    Spot on.

There is a site here and if you enter a seller's item no it will check to see if any bidders have bid on previous listings from the same seller....pretty easy to spot a shill bidder by using this:

    Shill Bidder Test

I've entered some of my auctions, I sell a lot of brand new benefit make-up, I have the same people bidding repeatedly as I always start low and they think they'll get lucky. I'd never shill bid and I've lost money on transactions when I have misjudged but when looking at this site it appears that I am a scammer, shill bidding to my hearts content.

I'd use this page along with e-bay with caution, again I think that genuine sellers who will not scam are dragged down by the rip of merchants.

You need to check the number of auctions the supposed shill has bid on compared to the total the seller has listed.

For some collectables it's quite possible that a buyer will bid on a lot of the seller's auctions, particularly if they're holding out for a good price on things. Then it can look as if they've been shilling and got caught out.

It would be particularly unfortunate if a new seller and a new buyer 'met up' like this.

Still, a good tool if used with some intelligence.

I have checked back and the original thread was removed by MSE Forum Team1. No reason is recorded for the removal, I'm afraid, so I'm not totally sure why it was removed.

    Back again!
    The Picasso

This has gone beyond a joke now. I wonder if Halesowen College know what their Art students are up to. I have a feeling they will tomorrow.
    Can I help?

The photo is likely to be a stock photo. The signatures are different. Wonder where he nicked it?

Edit: Oops, I see what you're saying now - he claims to have taken the photo himself.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

He's astonishingly confident - or maybe just plain stupid?

I've been in correspondence today (again) with the original seller - he says that he's really pushing it with Ebay now, using his Powerseller status as leverage. I'm staggered that they NARU'd stupid Halesowen boy in Sept, but reinstated him 10 days later:mad: . Perhaps his Uncle owns Ebay? :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

BTW, he sold another Steve Irwin photo 'Obtained Autograph myself and took picture myself whilst my visit to australia' on this auction:

No doubt another generic pic?

  • I love the bit in the "Picasso" ad where he boasts
As always i only sell quality itmes in my auctions, i have 90%+ feedback
as though 90.5% were a good feedback score! :rotfl:
