The Bellagio Fountainsi rarely ask questions but i've no doubt you guys will do me proud
Slight change of itinery for us means we don't need a 4x4 anymore! woohoo - get to have a more exciting car now!
I notice on CarHire3000 it lists a hire option as a 'Dodge Charger (or similar *eek*' - has anyone ever got one of these as a hire option in Vegas, or is it more likely to be 'similar'
Always wanted to drive one of these even if it won't be the top end one...
failing that, it's gonna be a convertible (but they look a bit naff to be honest -> 'Chrysler Sebring or similar')The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -

The Bellagio FountainsI'd like to point out that not all of us travel often enough to be Gold and Platinum members of different airlines.
I'm flying direct with Virgin next month, I agree that the planes aren't brilliant and for a 6 footer like myself the legroom is pretty poor but i'd still rather fly direct than changing planes.
We all have our different thoughts on this subject, lets just agree that its all personal opinions.
I don't care how I get there, just as long as I get to Vegas.

Good post. It always amazes me when the question is asked, that we get the upgrades/gold/platinum responses. The vast majority who ask on here will never fly anything other than economy.
I am flying with KLM this year on a 747 combi...cargo/passanger half/half. prob be worse than the Virgin flight, but it is cheap and I can fly from Norwich via Amsterdam and then direct (all be it to) LA.0 -
The Bellagio FountainsIt was £89, not $89 and I think it was on Netflights.
Which sites have you been trying in case I've missed them?
Still open to suggestions of sites to try for a one night stay.
ooops my mistake, just not used to booking US hotels in anything other than dollars.
All the usual sites
fatwallet
vegasmessageboard
travelzoo
vegas hotels online
If you have a players card for the Wynn/Encore (I think it is the same card) it may be worth calling them or emailing them.
I have just emailed the Orleans and they have knocked another $10 off the cheapest price I can find online and it was only $35 to start with0 -
The Sirens of TIEmail Addresses,
Everyone who wanted the penn/teller and Jubilee letter pm me your email addresses I will scan the letter and send out today.
Photome, as for the flights, it is all down to luck, I travel a lot on Buisness but never ever fly buisness class, don't believe in the hike in monies, and also these are my buisnesses and physically would prefer to spend the money on something better, its only 10hours or so...
KLM wonderful airline, flown from AMS one hell of a lot...
NWA totally different and of course these guys flight share.
back out next week.0 -
The Bellagio FountainsI'm sure most here get Martin's weekly email, but in case some don't and have Airmiles but haven't earned any for awhile, worth reading this to avoid possibly losing them:

The Fremont street experiencetotallybored wrote: »Yes! If you get an early flight from London its possible to arrive in Vegas before 2pm (around the same time as the Virgin flight arrives). Ok, you'll have to spend longer on the journey but if you're anything like me you won't sleep the night before anyway and will end up waiting around Gatwick for hours before your flight. There are early flights with United or AA around 8am and then connect Chicago and other places. It can also be £100 or more cheaper than the direct flight. For the sake of getting up a few hours later that's quite a bit of spending money.illegitimi non carborundum0

on the whole direct / indirect, the above will be our first indirect... i prefer direct as i just like to get the whole 'travel' thing out of the way... to be honest it just bores me!so will be good to see how it compares --- not sure i'll like it being dragged out but the flights were cheap as chips so worth the sacrifice!
re:dodge charger - was it nice photome? or are they really basic? (and how was the magnum stoneman?)0 -
The Sirens of TIStoneman, think it was your prompt a couple of weeks ago that stated that if you are going to book directly with a hotel always make sure you log in your rewards card to ensure the best rates.
Which made total sense.
Looking at Harrahs group, for 7 nights later this year,
Bally's $17 per night
Imp Pal $11 per night
Harrahs $12 per night
What have I done wrong or are the prices falling like a stone (Sorry no pun meant!)
(Dates looked at in September, key in 7 days!)0 -

Are those average per night rates - I think they might be? Normally if you click for more details on any given hotel it will show you each date and what the rate is - so it might say COMP for some nights and then an amount for the remaining - useful as in some cases you can shorten your dates, and still get the same number of comped nights - so for those who like to change mid-trip they could have X nights free and then move on elsewhere for the last few nights. Regardless, we love the online Total Rewards reservations programme...it's very straight forward.
One other thing though - not sure if you travel with anyone else staying in the same room? If so, try adding that person's TR number as a companion and see what happens...with my husband and I it's hit and miss...lately if I add me, it's MORE expensive than if it's just him...he loves telling me that I am a liability.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
