hi there all
bit confused at this thread
ive just recieved the letter saying that they think that there charges are fair blah blah
so now i know im supposed to write them saying to reconcider within 14 days or a go to the SCC or the ombudsman
but from reading here am i right in thinking it would be easier to call an ask them to reconcider rather than wright
an then they give me 8 week dead line but im most likely to hear sooner from reding some posts
or have i got it all wrong..lol
thanks0 -
Hello everyone
I was wondering if someone can help with this one!!
I sent a letter to the BOS in the middle of march and got a reply saying that it will take 8 weeks for my complaint so i gave them 3 weeks and sent my letter saying I will be taking them to court.
But when I cam round to applying for the court I never had any money to do it so I read on this site that they normally pay up after the 8 weeks so I said I will give them the 8 weeks.
anyway to cut a long story short the 8 weeks are up and I got a letter this morning telling me that they where satisfied that the charges on my account where correctly applied and they say if i am not happy (what I am not) I should got to the ombudsman with my complaint is this the best place to go now?
or should I give them a phone and tell them i am not happy with this reply and see what they say?
also can you please tell me if this is a standard letter?
thanks0 -
Don't let HBOS get away with the "we have a further 8 weeks from the re-evaluation".
The complaints process that FSA registrered firms must adhere to is very clear. They have 8 weeks from receipt of a complaint to issuing a final response OR giving you rights to the Financial Ombudsman Service.
If HBOS are saying they've a further 8 weeks from re-evaluation request you must challenge them and say you'll go to the FOS based on the date HBOS said they received the original complaint.
....14 June is D-day for me.... then I decide whether its; MCOL or FOS....nearly £7000 at stake too!0 -

Ring them up on the number shown on the refusal letter and tell them you are unhappy at their decision and ask them to review it.0 -

got through there and the guy seemed willing to help but he said that my reevaluation was in the system but there was no way of telling me how long it would take to get an answer as there are so many claims and that i should maybe leave it a week or 2!
my initial claim was at the end of April and my letter threatening court action was received by them on 13th May so i was hoping that it would have been sorted by now.
He did say to me that if i wanted to take things further then by all means i could if i found the timescale unacceptable but i was hoping to not have to go down that route as i am only looking for approx £400 for this account.0 -

Hey,
I asked for my claim to be re-assessed on the 31st May so I phoned again this morning just to check how it was coming along as they had told me it will be 2-3 weeks. The 2 weeks is up on Thursday so fingers crossed I hear something.............although I keep thinking that if that is they were going to offer me anything they would just do it over the phone?!
It't kind of hard staying positive!!

Hello
After reading the above posts - I am now concerned that I didn't call the number before sending the 3rd letter explaining how I wasn't not satisfied with the decision and that I would be taking the next stage but offered to accept a lower offer (saving them £1500) within the 14 days.
The 14 days have past - last week...(5th June)
Can anyone suggest what I should do????????
Very concerned.
