Anyone received emails after open of business today (9am ish)? I wonder if they are doing them in the evening/over night. Be interesting to know if anyone has any with timestamps this morning (but not early hours).0

Got today in Gmail. Didn't go to Spam folder.
Now waiting for 2nd email :rolleyes:Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
I got the first email (above) at 3/11/08 19:41 - my surname begins with a "D".
Arrived in my gmail - didnt go to spam.0 -
Our email also arrived in the early hours. Very interesting that they seem to be allowing the option to leave Fixed Rate Accounts in place, with interest continuing to be added, as long as you're prepared to forego the electronic payment when they mature and opt for paper refunding.
In view of future forecast interest rate drops, possibly drastic ones (and next decision on this due tomorrow?) how many people are going to opt to take this option? Is there any reason why it wouldn't be safe to do so?0 -
I'm a little confused about the ISA transfer side of it. I got the impression from the email you will be asked to transfer your ISAmonies out into your linked account where upon a certificate will be sent to you for the full amount allowing you to deposit the full amount in a new ISA with a cheque or another form of transfer from the account your ISA money is now in.0

sympatex - I imagine the certificate will say something along the lines that Mr. ABC is entitled to transfer the sum of £XX as a tax free deposit in the form of a Cash ISA to another provider. All the other ISA providers will be aware of the Icesave ISA's tax free transferability, so presumably will accept at cheque or other form of transfer provided it is accompanied by this certificate. The money will obviously first have to go into your linked current account and it is then up to you to select another Cash ISA provider. The authorities won't do this for you.0

Hi Primrose,
Yep, I'm staying put. I'm only twelve weeks into a three year bond (not a very large deposit) and I have no doubt that 7% will not be readily available again very soon. Was considering Saga one year @ 6.85% but effectively three years at 7%, when I don't need the cash, seems OK. Have no doubts that FSCS will honour this - we'll see. Other ppl may understandably have had such a bad experience, or now be so desperate for cash as to want to realise their assets ASAP. Really sorry for those in a bad situation and hope things are resolved for you soon, tho' very relieved that I shall probably emerge unscathed. But older and wiser? I should say so!0
