  • I work at Specsavers and we were warned of this yesterday, it is to do with leap year, it has meant that some payments were taken twice. If this has happened to you the extra payment will automatically be credited back into your account, you don't need to contact the store. If it resulted in you getting bank charges for going overdrawn, you can ask them to reimburse you for this as well, but you will have to provide a copy of your bank statement detailing the charges.

Anyone affected by this should get a letter explaining it all :)

The best cure is really just giving your eyes a break... oxygen can heal it generally.

Could also try some eye drops!

But what do you mean by overwore? I wear my daily DaySoft's for around 15 hours a day!

In my Optician the consulataion and trial for lenses is £50 and thats before you actually buy a month supply. My sister didn't have to pay this and had the trial for free and just have to pay for the lenses. Could i go to a different optician just for my lenses or do i need to be registered there?

Just ask the Optician for your prescription (which they have to do) and then take it to where you want.

Your prescription only lasts for a cetain length - usually 12 months, after that you would need a new prescription before anywhere would supply you.

do u have a costco card?

I use to pay £25 monthly for lenses with D&A and then discovered that Costco stocked the exact same ones for £10 monthly. I just buy my solutions from Boots

As dora says, just get a copy of your prescription and then decide where to go.

if you have just been fitted with contact lenses you will have to have your lens specification verified before you can take your prescription elsewhere this is normally a period of three months.

No i've just had an eye test and new glasses. I want contacts for my holiday in August in Portugal and i refuse to pay £50 just for them to see me and fit them and then pay another £28 for the actual lenses

I'll take my prescription down to specsavers to see what offers they have there.

I've been with spec savers on their lens mail (delivered in the post) package for nearly 6 years. It currently costs me £10 per month on direct debit for monthly disposables (wear in the day put in the pot with solution at night) and this includes the lenses, the solution and contact lense checks every 6 months.I have been unable to beat this deal and price anywhere else. The staff are always friendly and helpful and i have had several checks in a short space of time when my perscrition has needed upping with no additional costs. The lenses come in three monthly packs through my door and are always on time and a week before my lenses need changing! We also moved house 6 months ago and had no problems with the address change with regards to delivery.I can recommend them!

YOU ARE STUCK WITH YOUR DEBT IF YOU CANT BUDGE IT! LOL!
