I want to sign up for this.

I'm currently paying AOL £18 per month and have been thinking about signing up for Sky's Surf, Speak, TV package for a while - this just about swings it.
And i could justify paying for Sky+ if i'm getting £150 back!!

BUT!! I live in a block of flats, about 8 flats, 3 storeys. And i have no idea if there is a 'communal' dish or if each flat can have they're own installed.
I've emailed the maintenance company for info, but they're worse than useless and will tell me to contact the owner - I am the owner!!

Does anyone have any experience of this situation?
Is it worth calling Sky and asking, or should I know this myself?

I want to sign up for this but don't want to hit this hurdle!
  • It's taken me 8 months to get a refund on a Sky HD box.

You ring em up and they promise but never deliver. We had to send many letters and phone many times.

I wouldn't bother with the hassle.
  • I only want to get Sky TV and not broadband or telephone.
Will I still get the £150 through the cashback sites?

For £21/month (£16+£5 Broadband 40G cap) and £30 set up fee, I know I'll get Standard Sky box free. But, Will I get wireless router free as well ??
    Cheers folks...

yes you get a router as well for the broadband - i think that they have changed the router - it used to be a netgear but is a different model now

i used to have sky and then got fed up with the repeats and nothing really interesting to watch. so i didnt pay my bill and they reduced my service to free sat channels only - fine with that

they didnt dissconect my broadband so i have had bb free for the past 2 years and download about 40gb of torrent stuff each month - earlier than when sky shows it on the telly and best thing is you dont have interruptions every 10 mins of adverts like you do on sky 1

I cancelled and signed up as a new customer. My contract had ended and initialy everything went through fine till they realised I,d been an existing customer.I did this because I wanted the special offer.I used a different phone number and name but they sussed me out and I then had to open my old account back up.
I nagged till they gave me half price sky for 3 months but if an operator agreed to something on the phone it doesnt mean sky will actualy honour it.
It took me months of haggling and a fortune in calls. So watch out.Its not worth a try in my opinion unless you want problems as they can usually suss it out.

I would like to know this too, I did ask yesterday but it seems to have got lost in the debate about whether Sky is a good company or not!

There is an option (tick box)not to take on the broadband and one not to take the telephone.

you will still pay the same price and I am no expert but I think you would get the cashback, but you would need to have this confirmed by your cashback site as a definite.

What I need to know as a sky novice is,the equipment and instalation fee £129 is this for a dish as well as the sky+Box ?:o

I know that might seem obvious but it doesn't seem to state exactly what you get and I have never had sky.

    Stupid question here.
Would I still be able to use my PVR to record the digital channels available on set top box?
    Thanks
    Anyone know?
