rosekitten, those cakes looks so easy, its almost scary! Do you think they put the clear cellophane on so the strawberries won't fall off?
Becca: Your cakes look lovely, have you been "playing" all day?
MFM: the strawberries look so nice, might have to order them if I can't find any cheaper ones..
Thankyou Mum of Two!
Can you find instructions for the wedding favours too please! LOLOL

What wedding favours?lol! I have ordered a book called 'the lost art of towel origami' so watch this space :rotfl: :rotfl: I will have towels coming out of my ears!!
Becca: Wow, wow and wow, too good for teacher but like your thinking... spreading the word, might get some orders... am I right??
brownjasperdog: Lovely bouquet, well done, so original..0 -
Mumoftwo you are TOOOO right! hahahahahahaha
This cake didn't cost me much. The towels were free, the dove product was from the pound shop, the flowers 2,99 at Xenos and the 'ribbon' handmade on the computer.
But hoping to 'show off' at the school. Hoping other teachers will go: "WOW!!!! I WANT ..."
And maybe a load of mothers as well... hahahaha
Glad you are impressed. That's what I want.

The wedding favours like in the picture that Rosekitten posted, or any wedding favours for that matter! lol
I was worried about halving them in case they frayed?

I think the idea is that you would
not want to open them. They are
kind of sealed in the mesh.
But I would think if you wanted to make
these and cost was not the first consideration
then a thicker quality flanel for the base, then
use the cheap 20p ones. One rolled up
for the middle base and then another cheap one
used for the top base, but rolled very tightly
so it appears narrower.this would use up around
90p worth of flannels and you still have the
cost of the flowers, ribbon and mesh.
Although the more I think about this and I
hate having to pay over the odds for anything
and we are all supposed to be money savers
on here,if it were me this is what I would do.
I would use 3 of the cheap and cheerful 20p
white face cloths from Asda or Tesco and just
roll them in different thicknesses.I think the
reason these are covered in mesh apart from
being decorative is to hide the fact that these
have been made from cheap face cloths.
buy the ribbon for them by buying a whole
reel as its often cheaper and saves you
worrying about not having enough.
That mesh can be bought very cheap
by the metre. If you cant find it cheap local
let me know becuse the fine stuff like they
used on the ones in the pics is available here
local to me.
The only expensive bit is probably the roses
but there are other ways to do it so it looks
just as nice and keeps the cost down.

if you think about it 90p on flannels
to make one then times that by
100 its £90 before you have bought
anything else to make these.:j:j:j0 -

The flowers are silk and stuck on a garland. I got them from a shop we have here in Holland called Xenos. They sell lots of nicknacks basically. They are famous for being good priced.
Ask mumoftwo, she is in love with it! :eek:0
