Hi ladies, I've just bought some John West Reserve tinned red salmon in Tescos. It was in a promotional pack with a soft toy grizzly bear. The packaging is a clear plastic dome which opens easily and is the ideal size to show off a muffin cake. There is no branding on the 'dome' and the sticker peels away easily. Any one who would use the salmon anyway - £1.49 for a tin - would be able to reuse the packaging on their muffin cakes and keep the bear for a hamper later.... The bear conforms to EU standerds.

I bought one of these as a stocking
filler for my son as he thought the
bear was so cute, cant have been
many kids with a tin of salmon in
their stocking.I also paid £3 for mine
in asda before Christmas.Wish I had
    kept the packaging now.Although will
see if there are any left on our Asda.

I was thinking about the sock
    bouquet that jasperbrowndog
    listed

I thought of a variation on it
I only had paper napkins left over
from Christmas but this is it.A bunch
    of candles and some wire

When this is tied lift out two of the candles
and fill with sand or small pebbles, rice anything
that will fill the bottom and weight it down
then lift out the remaining candles and fill
    space with sand.

It will stand quite easily and if you can
    pop in wired socks,leaves,silk flowers.
this looks good when you use cellophane
and fill it with water and put in fresh flowers.

But as i used paper serviettes and managed
to get a good effect,I thought you could also
use square fabric ones and if you thought there
might not be enough stiffness in them use spray
on starch to stiffen them up a bit.

shame of it is that at christmas those
types of butterflies were among the
christmas decs and were heavily reduced
afterwards, some clipped onto things and others
just had wires attached to wrap round the branch
    of your tree.

That idea came about when a friend
of ours had a baby and as oten happens
there are no spare vases left on the
ward.We used the wide 33 inch wide cellophane
that they sell on ebay to make this as its
quite thick.Ours was quite large but then
we had long stemmed roses stood in it and the
babies breath it looked really nice and I think if
we had gone to a florist shop to get this made
it would have cost a small fortune.

I always think that if there is a way to save on cost
thats a great thing, but its even sweeter because
you end up with exactly what you wanted.
this below we made with all the grand children
the night before my mums funeral.
The kids made most of it and it was a nice
thing for us all to do together,we had the
fun of searching out the flowers that were
mums favourites and all pulling together
to make something a bit special.

When we've been on a cruise, the cabin stewards leave the hand towels folded as animals, we've has mice from flannels, crocodiles, elephants, turtles, monkeys, rabbits, snakes and swans. At one point our cabin looked like a menagerie. Some of the animals were made from several flannels or towels.

have a look at this site for inspiration

This website is an advert for video clips that you have to pay for.

As mentioned in one of my earlier posts you can watch clips on youtube of how to make towel animals for free :j

There are also some great clips for napkin folding so you can really impress people with your skills.:D

Got 'cold feet' yesterday sorting out curtains for charity bag ! It was full up and I was left with some odd pieces of material that I'd bought ........well, just because I liked them...............lol
Thought of covering a shoe box with them. Would PVA glue be the right sort to use or is there something else I should try ?
    Mary

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
