My house is an absolute tip..

seriously, it's a complete mess, i never have friends round for this reason...

it's not entirely my fault, but with 5 adults living in a small house it gets messy fast, clothing piles up that needs to be sorted out after washing etc, and with 16 pets...11 of which require live food, empty pots of that soon mount up....

it's not that we're messy people, we just never ever tidy...it takes months to become a mess...but stays that way for even longer...

At least all of my mess is in my bedroom, as i rarely use the lounge except for eating.. (less time i spend with my parents, bro and sis the better!)

i blame my little sis for the mess, she is 18, and always at home...so it is clearly her fault!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - is my house clean ?!?!? hahahahaha - oh please don't make me laugh ........................
  • No seriously - if I get addicted to this site (in the afternoons when my 2 yr 2 month old is asleep) I then have to spring into action around 5pm as DH arrives home from London at 6pm - so when he arrives home he finds the washing machine on the dishwasher on - things in the oven and on the stove - I am wearing marigolds and washing up - the tv is on and son is sometimes watching it - or putting his crayons everywhere - its really 'full on' at 6pm - I tell my husband 'oh I am soooo tired - its been like this all day' !!!!!!

I do sometimes have to limit myself on here as I could spend most of the afternoon on the site !!!!!

Lucky for me, he isnt a tidy person either, but that just makes it worse.
We keep joking about doing wife swap so we can get a compulsive cleaner round!

when we're all debt free, we can have cleaners :D

I'm going to admit to this & its really anal.

My husband suggested getting a cleaner in twice a week for a couple of hours each time to give me more free time as I've gone back to work full time.
I said no, they wouldn't do it the way I liked it (or in other words, to my standards:o ).
I told you it was anal:o
  • Mine is pretty tidy but I grew up in a house that was messy and chaotic and pretty much everything got lost (homework, reading books, underwear(!), favourite toys) and I think I keep everywhere tidy as a reaction to that.

Flylady on the OS board helps. (You can do basic or advanced)

Being clean and tidy in the first place - it's easier to wipe over somewhere everyday than have to really muck out once a week.

The kids are well trained - they strip their beds, put the bin out, tidy toys when finished playing, put dirty clothes in linen basket and clean ironed clothes in wardrobe. Still working on OH but he's getting better!

Oh, and I have sold tons of clutter on ebay. Tons of it. And tried my best not to buy more to replace it.

Looking back at photos when kids were babies though I always think everywhere looks a mess - stuff all over. Bit freaked that house will end up like that again soon!

I have a cleaner that does a couple of hours a week when I'm at work (she doesn't come when I'm off). I clean before she comes so she doesn't think the house is dirty! She does clean the windows though, which I have to be forced into doing!

No my house is messy messy messy. However it is not totally my fault. When I was iller than I am now, I decided it would be a great money making idea to buy a job lot of clothes on ebay to resell. But it was 7 GIANT boxes full of clothes, and until I started getting better, they just sat there. Now I am trying to sell them off at any price to try and get some money back, but the amount is so huge, it is intimidating, so I don't get around to much. Ho hum

I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?
