De-scaling kettle

Options
Any tips for de-scaling a kettle please. Have tried boiling vinegar in it and has helped a bit but still not all gone?

I think you need to mix bicarb of soda with the vinegar to make a nice fiz.  Worth doing that and leaving overnight.

  • I keep one of those little metal things in there, you rinse them through every so often - they pick up all the floating bits of limescale.

Thanks HQ and 160..it was for a travel kettle actually too.

As for the vinegar and bicarb...now why didn't I think of that especially after my experiences re tooth-whitening and bi-carb and vinegar when I ended up looking like I had rabies ::) ::)
