Just to dispel this myth, here's a lovely freecycle in reverse asking for something possibly of little value, possibly in exchange for something of value.

Hi there all, I am on the look out for 4 x 13 inch steel vauxhall
wheels for my caravan, I have some 13 inch alloys on it at the mo,
these are the old ATS style from the early eightys but are a wee bit
scabby. These are actually sought after these days for people doing
restorations and I would be more than happy to swap for the right
    wheels. Pcb must be 100mm.

    Thanks for reading

Nicely put, kindly asked for, manners present and correct and I really hope this guy gets the wheels he is looking for with or without a swap as he seems one of a rare breed of genuine freecyclers, and definitely not a freeloader! Wonder how many folks he will get asking for his alloys though (to put on ebay's next 10p listing day? ! ?).

Oh and I offered double bed pine slats on mine - OMG shocked at just how popular they were and the many uses folks had for them!
