I think your FC'er sucks! It happened to me a while back...almost exactly the same thing actually except he hadn't heard from me in the space of 12 hours!! I went to bed thinking the paint pots for the babies bedroom were ours and woke up to an email saying that as I hadn't emailed him back since midnight :eek: he had offered them to someone else!

Also had one which I turned up on time to pick up, only to be told their wife had given the item to someone else. NOT a short car ride either

Win some you lose some I guess. Our list owner encourages us to report any sort of wrongdoing like this to her and she deals wit it. She's great!!

Aye I've done that , just waiting to see what the mod has to say - she's usually a decent enough sort. Lets see what she says.

offered all my items to lucky people picked this morning, and after stating clearly must collect evenings on original offereds, three have emailed back to say they want to collect during the day. so said no, i stated must be evenings. two have said, don't want it then. third yet to reply. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. why do i bother.

i have one of these, 20 minutes by car, got there said she'd given it to someone who had called earlier and admired it, wasn't a happy chappy.

Ive been listing stuff all weekend after clearing out the kids room. One email, in very broken english read:

I see you list lots nice things. Please be giving me some for my daughter rather than list?

Ive had 2 people not turn up at all and no contact after since monday.

Last year I was p****d about for a week by a woman wanting a wash basket who never did turn up for it despite me staying in. She was the group moderator.....

And last week's little gem?

I have now retired and Im looking for a Harley Davidson.

Yes, and Im looking for a ferrari but I aint getting one. I dont know why I bother half the time. I know its recycling and all that but it doesnt half wind me up some days!!!!

Thing is, I was raised to be polite. If someone gives me something I cant thank them enough. Yet some of these socially inept idiots appear on my doorstep just uttering the name of the thing they have come to collect and then turn and leave. Not a thank you or a kiss my !!!!.

Maybe its just me, but If I take something I always post a "recieved with thanks" message. I can count on one hand how many people have done that for me.

I have met a few very lovely people on freecycle, but they appear to be in the minority!

your ranting almost as much as me. worst one i ever had said they neded to collect asap as it was 10p listing day next day on ebay, after they'd sent me a sob story abuot how desperate they were for the item. cheeky !!!!!!s. do my head in. one on doorstep once said "come for such and such and i'm in a rush", so i stood there waiting for some manners, and got abused for being obviously mentally !!!!!!. :mad: :mad: :mad:
but have to say most people are very nice.
