What's the deal?
Amazon is offering a 1GB USB flash drives for a bargainous price of £7.99 plus delivery the lowest price I've ever seen. These are effectively keys you stick in the back of your computer, can save things on them (pictures, videos, documents) and then carry with you to any other computer.
Or more technically, they're "removable, portable, piece of hard ware that can be used to store files and allows easy transfer of those files to laptops and PCs. "
The cheapest 1GB data traveler cards (NOTE ALWAYS CHECK THE PRICE, THEY CAN CHANGE!)
If you have other Amazon purchases to make then provided you spend over £15 delivery is free, so its worth combining this with other purchases (the Money Diet and Thrifty Ways are great books by the way... ut hmm).

- Buffalo, 1GB, USB2.0 Flash Pen Drive, Amazon price £7.99*. Price with delivery £10.76 unless you use the free delivery tricks below.
- Kingston Technology 1 GB drive on Amazon Price £4.26*. Price wth delivery £8.76 (ie £4.50 delivery). WARNING, there's no way to avoid the delivery charge. That's because as it's not actually from Amazon, but a third party seller, and as such it doesn't fit normal rules. (If you're wondering, the way to tell this is to see if next to the price list at the top it misses the "& eligible for Free UK delivery on orders over £15 with Super Saver Delivery" note".)

How to get free delivery
If you have other Amazon purchases to make then provided you spend over £15 delivery is free, so its worth combining this with other purchases (the Money Diet and Thrifty Ways are great books by the way... ut hmm).
Other tips
- Team up with a mate. If both you and a friend want a stick, pair up and order together. This should take you close to the £15 (which is usually enough as it seems to give free delivery a little below £15, if not one of you can go for the slightly more expensive memory stick) and you'll get free delivery.
- Amazon Filler Finder. This nifty tool, Amazon Filler Item Finder, allows you enter the amount you need to spend to get free delivery (ie the £15 limit) and will list matches closest to that price (usually within 1p).

Another recommendation for the Kingston 1Gb DataTraveler. It transfers data a lot faster than my previous flash disk.0

Well, that's from third party 'marketplace' sellers listing their wares on Amazon, and strictly speaking is not supplied by Amazon itself. Also, postage costs may vary for such 'marketplace' items so check before ordering.0 -
Watch out, the p&p adds £4.50 to that price!Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0
