Stormybay's Thread a bit of comfort in a hard world

Just a quick request before I bog off to work...

Merry Christmas everyone, I hope it is the kind of christmas you want.

Is there any chance of posting a few phone numbers for support lines such as the Samaritans, AA, GA etc etc just so that those people that may need them. I know it's not hard to find these numbers etc if you need them, but those that may need them may not be able to do this due to anxities/ stresses.

I'll start:

Samaritans: 08457 90 90 90 or jo@samaritans.org

AA - http://www.alcoholics-anonymous.org

National Centre for Domestic Violence - http://www.ncdv.org.uk/ 0r 08709 220704

Gamblers Anonymous - 020 7384 3040

NHS direct 0845 46 47

Feel free to add any other numbers or contact details and I hope it helps someone somewhere

Big love to all

  • Thank you for these CG...............unfortunately I may need them tonight when the children are in bed. VERY VERY sadly my hubby passed away VERY suddenly 2 days ago (if anyone has read my threads, my father did too in June) and I don't know what to do........it's comforting to know there are people on here who I could turn to if I need to vent later..............think I'm still in shock to be honest, what the hell am I doing on here..........because I can't sit downstairs looking at Christmas cards to me and hubby mixed in with the sympathy ones.............

    So sorry Stormybay. {Hugs}
    Some things are too big to cry about especially at first - people don't always react as you'd imagine.
    Please, just take each moment as it comes. You will get through. If it helps just to stuff the cards in a drawer and ask someone else to sort them later - then do that. Do what it takes to make it through.
    If you need to talk you can pm me - I know we don't know each other but sometimes that's easier. I'm a mum with teenagers too.
    Will be thinking of you.
    {hugs} again.
