Well.. if we are doing revelations.........

Mudders was right all along ... I am a man!! Triker can vouch for it! lol

I do have arthritis, talonous nails and what comes across on here is actually probably more me than you'd get if I met any of you! I am far nicer to you all than I am real people.

Anyway.. I decided this morning OHs mum and mine should both come with public sanity warnings and then we tried coming up with ways in which they are similar.. they are both rude, pig-headed and opinionated to the point of ignorance! .. Match made in Hell!!

Tiddles has to go back in August with her finger.. I am hoping her ganglion will have gone by then.. if not they want to operate.. but they want to do her curly toes at the same time.. so she'd have both feet and her right hand bandaged up at the same time.. that would make life very interesting! I have decided her toes will actually wait.. IF they need to straighten her torsion when she is about 10 they can do them then.. otherwise she isn't going to die from curlytoeitis I am certain!

Hello ladies - I desperately need help!!!!

Male neutered cat (who has been turned into a Davy Crockett hat by DH) has SPRAYED all over the curtains and oilcloth tablecloth (the back - typical). I need to get rid of the smell to stop him repeating at the same spot - does anyone know what gets rid of it? The curtains are currently soaking in the bath (brand new - typical!).

I have rung the vet, and have some things to try to stop the behaviour, but unless I can get rid of the smell, he will always return to it!

    Thanks ladies!

I had one who did this and was told to use biological washing powder diluted to clean it up, the enzymes eat the hidden smell supposedly. Also foil on the floor where it was, they dont like it under their feet.

I have stripped our bedding and got it in the wash. I made a half hearted start on the floor but gave up and took the boys to the park instead :o.

Greenbee you are good with herbally/natural things, wondering if there is anything you can recommend. I am having terrible trouble sleeping just now, I have turned off my radiator in my room and only have a light duvet cover on, I never put my light out until 2.20 am and was back up at 6.15  I am the sort of person who can get by on 6 hours sleep, I really don’t need a lot of sleep, I am always up before the kids and DH when they are off school/work/childminders etc but the tossing and turning and waking every 15 minutes is really annoying and I know that it can’t be good for my body, last night I had a diet pepsi with my dinner around 6 then not another thing passed my lips. Maybe I should go back to drinking a bottle of wine at night, that way I slept fine :rotfl:
I'm not allowed to give medical advice BUT

    • cut out fizzy drinks (they're bad for you in so many ways anyway :p)
    • no alcohol at all for a bit.
    • limit caffeine (including tea & chocolate!), particularly after lunch
    • drink plenty of water (although cut down towards evening
    • eat carbs - they're a natural tranquiliser...
    • remove electrical/electronic equipment from your bedroom. It's for sleep and sex (not necessarily in that order of priority!), not a home cinema, and you don't need to be online there, or have your mobile phone to hand. A battery operated alarm clock (if you need one) will do.
    • remove clutter - it lets the air (and energy if you believe in that kind of thing) flow freely. This includes clutter under the bed. I you have stuff there, at least make sure it is tidy and clean!
    • Magnesium citrate (not combined with calcium) before bed
    • epsom salt bath (start with a teacup full and build up)
    • lavender oil in the bath (add to a thimbleful of milk before adding to the bath to help disperse
    • lavendar on the pillow
    • Badger sleep balm
    • Switch off PC a hour before bedtime
    • reflexology
    • herbal/yogi teas
    • walk round the block before bed...
You really need to find out what it is that's causing the problem. If your brain is just keeping going, then you need to calm it down - hence no TV/PC for an hour or so, a gentle potter round the block, a good bedtime routine (wiping down the kitchen, pottering about once everyone else is in bed) and if necessary some yoga/meditation to clear the annoyiing thoughts. Or try the black box exercise - every time something pops up, put it in the (imaginary) black box and tell it you'll deal with it in the morning. Make sure you open the box in the morning (your mind needs to trust this system) and most of the problems will have disappeared - then deal with the others.

    Don't try everything at once...

The suggestion of biological washing powder is good. Make sure you don't use bleach on it though, it contains ammonia and apparently attracts them.

DH has already killed him! He is on borrowed time so if I cant sort it out, I will have to rehome him. According to the vet, it could be the unneutered tom muscling in on his territory. One of our others is a bit disturbed at the mo so I think he is right.

I am not sure if it was raining

    Thanks, Lilo
