Welcome to the weekly Flylady thread. If you need help organising your week when it comes to housework, or just the motivation to do the dreaded housework tasks you have to do, come and join us, hopefully make it a little easier. You never know, you might start to enjoy it!
Following requests to start things steadier for new members who did not realise the tasks list wasn’t a must do, just an encouragement. There will now be level 1, 2 and 3. Level 1 being very basic it has been requested that this is just one task per day, level 2 in the middle, up to 3 which is more advanced and time consuming. If you want to do level 2 you add the tasks on level 1 with the level 2 tasks, if you want to do level 3 you add the tasks on, easy peasy. Choose a level to aim for but be realistic, if you’ve got a busy day on or are just starting etc aim for level one, if you get higher then great, if not then not to worry its only suggestions. Every room comes back around next week. Trust me some days I'll only be doing level one myself.
THESE LISTS ARE ONLY SUGGESTIONS AND NOT A MUST DO LIST, ALWAYS WELCOME TO POST AND FOLLOW YOUR OWN.
Also adding a declutter mission each day. Another one where it’s up to you if you want to do it or if you need to. This follows requests from members who are looking to declutter. Fling boogies, hotspot clearing, cupboard sorts, drawer sorts etc will all be on this list. Any problems with this of any suggestions do please let me know.
A few of the basics before we start the week
Hotspots are any areas which if one thing gets put there, loads of other things follow!
Daily routines/todailies are anything you need to do today and every day stuff like laundry, swish and swipe kitchen and bathroom, ironing, making beds, vacuuming high traffic areas, making meals etc
Night-time routines are all things which make getting ready in the morning easier, preparing clothes for the next day, making lunches, swish & swipes of the kitchen and tidying the living room before you go to bed plus personals like shower/brush teeth etc.
Fling Boogie/binbag dance - stick on some loud music, grab a binbag and whizz around the house finding items that can go out with the rubbish, recycling, for charity shop, basically anything that will stop it cluttering your home.
Swish and swipe/S&S means have a quick wipe over an area such as a sink or toilet to prevent the build up of dirt. This is usually done on a daily basis
HHE/HHC/HHI Half Hour exercise/challenge/ironing ... run around for 30 minutes to the Benny Hill music frantically cleaning, exercising or ironing.. other music may be used if you prefer!
5GC five minutes gardening.. make it lovely for your family and enjoy it!

1. You don't have to complete the daily list on the same day to get your star
2. You must do levels 1,2 and 3 to get a star but remember the 'extras' are extras and don't count towards the stars!
3. Please make it obvious when you have finished a list so that I know you need a star - for example Monday Done! make sure I can see it!!!!!!
4. If you dont have something on the list then it gets deleted - e.g. clean out pets - if no pets no cleaning out done - delete!
5. Similarly when it says childrens rooms then you should substitute spare room/utility room/conservatory...etc if you have no childrens rooms.
6. If you have no spare room or any other room not on the weekly list then make sure you do any thing thats on that list that you haven't already done earlier in the week and try to substiture similar type jobs - and make sure all the extras are done - make an effort please!!
7. You should not be deleting stuff just because you CBA!!
8. You may delete stuff if you are not physically fit to do something!
9. And for goodness sake remember that the stars are for FUN - there will be no discrimination - no sulking - no striking - no bribing- no cheating - or there will be no stars!!! so there!!
Last week there was 153 stars awarded with 17 flyers doing all five days lists. Well done everyone!
That means 153 rooms across the country were cleaned and sparkling this week.

Hi everyone
I'm in again! I'm loving it....the cleaning, the organising, the help, the support, the satisfaction of a good job, done well.
Thanks to the usual suspects...wherever they may be......
Talk to you all later.....

Thanks as always to Pigpen, Toots, Soappie and the mysterious one.
Pigpen - I am liking that list :j! Are you ill or something :A:p?
Poohbear - it is fun isn't it. Putting a hole in the wall for the TD and WM pipe was a major project. It took two weekends of DH working hard and over £100 in specialist drill bits on a £500 hammer drill (borrowed from work!) to get through two foot of solid stone. If we need any more done we will get diamond drilling in. The layout of my kitchen is being dictated by the existing holes for plumbing . DH bought a dovetail jig this week and can now make drawers :jso one day I may have a kitchen. I may invest my share of our little windfall in some worktops to encourage him. Bathroom or kitchen? Hmmm.
Penelope Penguin - the new girls are now mixed in with the old, and I am waiting to see what happens at bedtime.... The new ones have been kept in a barn with several hundred others so not sure they know what to do at dusk. They are 18 weeks old so not expecting a lot on the egg front at the moment. If Bertha and Betty are big bullies then they will have to be urgently re-homed. Seems like a good excuse to get an eggskelter though :j.
Thifty - don't know what to suggest then, the special plugs have always worked for us before so we must have been lucky. You can get more expensive ones that may be worth a try if you look on the screwfix website. I have some pressure mounted rails from Ikea rather than try and drill our walls so that may be worth a try?
ETA - henwatch - the six new girls are huddled together (knititng and reading mills and boons in a chicken run style) under the nesting area. The old ones are sulking because they are not used to being shut in the pen, they run into the new ones every so often to scatter them but without any pecking so hopefully things will be ok. We have had a good scrub out, nice fresh bedding and the floor area has doubled so fingers crossed...... Does anyone know how long I need to keep the new ones in the pen for? The old ones are free range round the (secure) garden.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Evening all
Everybody enjoyed Easter Dinner. Mum brought me a couple of lovely tea plates (I love odd plates) for cooking which was a nice surprise.
Plan for this week is to get upstairs straight, I'll do a list in a bit.
Looking forward to JC (no wine here but I do have a load of ironing)
Trifty - you are using long raw plugs aren't you? I think you can get quite heavy duty grippy ones. I'm guessing if it is curtains it is an outside wall and not plaster board. I'm a bit confused. You could post the question on the DIY boards hereThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
