Excessive postage etc

I guess when giving feedback you can reduce the number of stars on the postage bit - but personally I know that if I bid on something I agree to the postage costs stated, more fool me if it turns out that they can send it much cheaper.
If, however, they stated sending something via recorded / special and it was not, then I would kick up a fuss.
Good luck!0 -
I was on ebay this morning purchasing some trading cards and some of the cards were selling for 99p each, which is reasonable but then postage was £5, for one card! I refuse to pay this so simply didn't buy the item, but found it from another seller for free postage, so simply pay what you are prepared to pay.
I always include the postage costs when considering whether an item is worth it or not.
Cheers

So, not that ripped off that you want to return it then? Just one of those who want to negotiate the price after they have the item. Right, glad that's cleared up.They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

You can leave him whatever feedback you want. Also you agree to the postage assuming its reasonable. If its unreasonable and the seller refused to rectify this you are well within rights to leave negs and low dsrs. Thats what feedback is for to show your experience of the transactionvictoriajayne1987 wrote: »
you cant really neg him for the postage issue because u did agree to it, neutral maybe if really neccessary, but maybe on the DSR's knock it down a bit?? or wait and speak to the seller and see what they have to say!!0 -
so the item arrived late, dirty and ripped off on p and p?
that's not what the op was after so why should anything other than a neg be left?0 -
and people still wonder why ebay force free or capped postage on items? while sellers continue to postal gouge to avoid fees, ebay will have plenty of reason to justify it.0

Hi I have to agree here that negative feedback is more than justified at the least I would leave a neutral with a 1 rating on all four stars.milfhunter wrote: »so the item arrived late, dirty and ripped off on p and p?

Why would you leave 1's for the other 3 stars when the only problem you had was with P&P? I thought their purpose was to honestly rate the transaction and that's not an honest rating.:j30/7/10:j

Update: After a few emails back and forth the seller has admitted that the postage cost shown was accidentally left over from a previous listing (we've all done that I'm sure) and it should have been £3.50. Still refusing to refund the difference though - I think it didn't sell for as much as he thought it would and he wants me to return it for a refund because he thinks he might do better next time.
And no, I don't feel ripped off by the product, just by the postage, I don't like cheats.Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
What about the cost of packaging, maybe cost of parking, petrol and time spend taking said item to the post office ?
We are talking about post and packing though, not post and everything else you can possibly load onto the costs. Sellers that start adding all that to their postage costs won't last long.
OP, I would probably be inclined to a neutral with a remark about state of item and high postage and leave low stars for the appropriate categories.
I wouldn't neg for the postage alone but the fact that the whole experience was less than positive would mean I don't think I could leave a glowing positive.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
