Mobiles.co.uk - A cautionary tale

You maybe missing the point.
The point was to point out that it was the mobiles "rep" Ben who had seized on the opportunity presented, but not to "help" over the query about "Chris", not to actually resolve the query, of course, but to boast about the "thousands of happy customers" they got last year!
As distinct from your totally unbiased comments and even handed posts, I suppose! You maybe missing the point.
It is this cynical manipulation of posts that Ben carries on doing in unmoderated forums that is the point!
This forum is moderated in as much as some of the posts that have been hijacked have been closed by the mods. And as for cynical manipulation of posts, how you didn't choke on that astounds me!0 -
I don`t think i am missing the point the OP updated the thread on the 12.01.09 with an update on the still ongoing issue.
Since then it has been taken over by the "Chris Who" sage, I`m aware i`m culpable also to this at the moment,
My point is that all these Mobs.co.uk threads no matter what the iniatial attempt of help from fellow posters, including those who have no love for Mobs.co.uk, ie:Silk, MJ who offer advice to help, Always end up with the same arguements that take over and end up with locked threads that help no one.0 -
Maybe someone requests the mobiles.co.uk threads are locked? Doesn't seem to happen with such regularity in other threads that discussions veer off the original topic0

Maybe someone requests the threads are locked?
I expect that they do - and rightly so.
Frankly, I am surprised that some of you haven't received "yellow card" warnings from the mods for all of the hijacking you have done on any and all mobiles.co.uk posts.
I expect this one will be closed soon too.0 -
In case it does get locked, WW and I are communicating privately and have resolved the issue to our mutual satisfaction (they will have to confirm this once they are happy it's done and dusted).

Regards,
That is the best way to solve the original problem and the way the Vodafone reps do it. Not as entertaining for 3rd parties, maybe!
If the post does get locked, would WW please open a new one to confirm it?
Thanks.0 -

In other words it's about the OP giving out caution regarding the appauling service of mobiles.co.uk and other members are free to also ad advice, comments, suggestions, resolutions and defence !
Whether you feel that people have agenda's or feel that you have read it all before is of no consequence. Maybe you have read it all before but there will be others reading such threads for the first time which is why myself and others contribute to them. It's not just about the money0 -
If I were Ben, I would not respond at all to any comments posted by his main antagonists as this fuels the fire and again detracts from the useful information in the threads.
What tends to then happen is that he complains it against him as a person rather than a company and the thread gets locked
We all know that shortly there will be another thread and it will start all over again ...whether you will read it is up to you whether Ben will respond or complain is up to himIt's not just about the money0 -
A thread started by someone to discuss their opinions of Mobiles.co.uk probably wouldn't be closed, but then I probably wouldn't be interested in replying to it unless I thought it might prove constructive. The last time a thread like this was started it took about 8 posts to become unreadable, contained more fiction than Dan Brown's noggin and more opinion dressed as fact than The Sun the week before an election.
A thread where someone asks for help and I subsequently contact them will be closed as soon as it starts devolving into the same old accusations and opinions, it seems. To paraphrase Monty Python, this is neither the Arguments or Insults department.“Official Company Representative
