Hi jules,
MJ is quite right cancelling the DD is a risky thing regarding credit rating, did you speak to Orange regarding this beforehand ?
Did you by chance receive anything in writing confirming the contract had been cancelled ?0 -

No didnt talk to Orange before cancelling DD and have not received anything in writing to say the contract has been cancelled.Am writing to Orange today about it!
Ok, when you write to them be sure to give them as much detail as poss and include any copies of written instructions you have etc.
The main thing to include is a copy of the receipt you have for when you returned the phone to mobiles.co.uk as that is proof that you no longer have the phone and that the contract was definatley cancelled.
As far as I'm aware there shouldn't be a problem with OrangeIt's not just about the money0 -

You don't know that.
If he / she does get invoiced or charged - do not pay and let them take it court and prove a phone was delivered but its no way near that stage.
We do know that !!!
The order was cancelled the previous day ....the OP got an email the following afternoon saying it "might" be despatched by 5pm...the OP replied straight away and was told "too late to cacel"
Note the word "might" not "has" or "will be" but "Might" in otherwords it hasn't yet but might do
Mobiles.co.uk's reluctance to cancel, which was quite easy to do as Ben even has admitted to pull the order from the warehouse or courier and to continue with the contract is appauling.
The scenario you create regarding "if they get charged" whilst quite common from them needs to be covered by copying in the Network on this.
The reps Intervention on this has not resolved anything as all it resulted in confirmation that it would not be cancelled untill the phone is back in their hands. So at the moment the contracts still running and now the phones in limbo ....great way to resolve matters !Yeah I have learnt not to listen to whingers who continously hijack threads saying the same things and causing extra worry to the OP.

Then why comment on my posts which are designed to help from a viewpoint of experience, rather than advising people to rely on a company which plainly has no interests in its customers, who would therefore end up in a far worse position should they be foolish enough to listen to you?0 -
Silk read post 77 - quote
"If he / she does get invoiced or charged - do not pay and let them take it court and prove a phone was delivered but its no way near that stage."
I said its no way near that stage.
I just do not stand the logic you are supplying here - companies work with couriers to send items out - they probably gets lots of orders per day, its not always feasible to stop orders from being dispatched.
Now they are promising to cancel the order once they get the phone back from courier - and that is reasonable. I sell items on ebay occassionally and if someone returns somethings, I want to see it back in my hand before I do a refund. Same thing for any company.
So chill out and let the OP deal with it - he/she did get a call telling him the contract would be cancelled. They can't hold anyone to a contract without supplying the phone and they cant supply the phone because courier wont be able to deliver it. If anything this case is far more simple than what your problems were (which occurred after receiving the phone).0 -

I did post initially when the OP first posted but deleted my message in view of the fact I knew what was about to happen. Which was to see you and others hijack a thread as per normal with your continous rants and personal jibes againt the rep (whom I do not trust myself I add).0 -

You have the benefit of this. (The knowledge that has made you decide not to trust the rep).
Others are entitled to have this knowledge too, aren't they?
Thus there is duplication in similar threads. Just ignore the posts you see as duplication, and remember others may not have read all the other threads.0 -

So you have learned something after months of defending this company and its rep at every opportunity. I suppose at least one penny has finally dropped for someone who (I stand corrected if wrong) is not actually a customer and therefore has no experience of this lot (as opposed to delivery services relating to ebay of course!).0
