Santas Challenge - September
Ladies its that lovely, date, reminding us we one month closer to that special visitor coming!.
After last months challenge - the cupboards - who could forget that one! I will be gentle, I promise.
I'm calling this month - the KITS month, (no not Kitt the car, or am I showing my age, but could be kit-kat, for emergency measures only!!).
I'll put a few suggestions on, and there may be things you need / don't need or start you off.
Medicine Box
Paracetomal
Plasters
Nurofen (for kids)
Paracetomal (for kids)
Alka setzer (or is that a step to far!!)
Micropore tape
Couple of small qauze dressings
Telephone numbers - Out of hrs doctors, check which chemist near you is on emergency cover
Christmas Wrapping Kit
Sellotape
Scissors
String (never know!)
Bubble-wrap (incase you've got breakables)
Tissue Paper
Pens
Household Extra Kit
Toilet paper - more visitors and may need spares
Candles (in-case of power cut)
Tealights - (may have a "romantic night")
Matches
Torch (incase of power cut, I have one upstairs landing one down.
Batteries - AAA for remote controls, AA for cameras, (some presents take both,) nothing worse than getting a present and no batteries.
Mums Organised Box
Notepad + Pen - Incase of arranging dates, where you should be
Emergency bar chocolate
Little treat - small bottle posh bubblebath
Ear-plugs - avoid the I wants....
Emergency Presents
(avoid xmas themes as you can then put them up for 2010 presents)
Boys Present
Girls present
Ladies Present
Gents present
10 spare christmas cards
Bottle Wine
Box of chocs
(last 2 get what you like, if you don't need them you can have them yourself
STICKERS OR A4 PAPER CUT INTO SQUARES + SELLOTAPE
Method in my madness, how many times have we brought something for christmas, that tin of sweets, that box of biscuits, and someone has gone + eat them, when you go to get them their gone!
PUT A STICKER ON IT, LESS CHANCE OF IT GETTING EAT.
CHRISTMAS DAY - NEW NOTEBOOK
I know we all have enough to do on Christmas day, but a couple of minutes, save a lot of hassle later, how many times do we / kids etc, get a present we dont like, either goes to the charity or the recycle box, if you pop a note in book, who it is off, you won't be giving it back to same person.
CHRISTMAS MORNING KIT
Rubbish bag - get the wrapping in ready
Screwdrivers - philips, normal dinky one (ready for those must have toys!!)
Camera - (put it in bag night before)
Tissues - incase we have tears I didn't want that one.
Mini bottle brandy for mum (just for medicinal purposes)
Camcorder - put on charge Christmas Eve - to be on safe side
Bribes for children - incase Great Aunty Doris has knit a jumper that is 10 sizes to big, and as its tradation to send Great Aunty Doris a picture .
(only jokeing).
Must say a massive thank you to 3_cheeky_princesses for the suggestion of the Christmas day box(used pink font - very princess like.
Organise shopping.
Consider doing the list of extra food that you need, and split it into smaller chunks so you can split it into shopping.
Xmas Catalogues
So far I've seen Toys r us Catalogue out, but try and get in early, as the most popular items will be sold out.
Review sites
I know we make money from Review sites, but also its worth looking up products that you may want to buy, for instance last yr in the top 10 girls presents was a gift "Cup Cake Maker", £29.99, aimed at girls 8+, they cooked cupcakes, just added water to mix (4 mixes supplied) and cake microwaved then topping put on (included), the kit only made 4 cakes, refill packs were £10, again only make 4 cakes.
There is a similar product being advertised based on decorating your cupcakes....... personally I'm running a marathon in opposiate direction.
Hope I haven't bombarded you with too much, as always use the challenges as a pick and mix and even if you only take 1 idea, thats ok. x
ARGOS
Last thought, but as mentioned before on Argos website under clearance, you can have a look at whats in at your local store, espically handy as they usually have a selection of wii/ds games, and for stocking fillers great idea.

I have 4 children and they each have 1 design of paper (different from the other 3) so that i dont have to put a gift tag on every single presnt i know whose is whose by the paper design. Otherwise i would have to write out 100's of tags :eek:Member of Thrifty Gifty ~ Making money for Christmas 2010:£2 Savers club member no 40 ~ £54Amazon Vouchers BingoPort ~ £10Dooyoo Challenge Jan ~ £24.07 / £20.00 Yippee over target :j0 -

MumtoOne can i suggest a Xmas morning Kit too Rubbish Sack for the er rubbish, Batteries for toys / gifts, Screwdriver phillips, normal and dinky size one) for putting batteries in the Toys / Gifts. It is easier to have it in a box ready rather then trying to find thr right size / shape screwdrivers Crimbo morning when the kids all want batteries put in their toys. Any any other ideas to put in gthe kit.......Member of Thrifty Gifty ~ Making money for Christmas 2010:£2 Savers club member no 40 ~ £54Amazon Vouchers BingoPort ~ £10Dooyoo Challenge Jan ~ £24.07 / £20.00 Yippee over target :j0

lol, 3_cheeky_princesses, i'm pretty much the same, apart from last year as DD was only little and the yr before 'cos i was pregnant. I get so excited about the whole day, but mainly about the turkey dinner! Then in the night we all snuggle up, watch a dvd and pig out
one year when i lived back at my parents, me and my siblings got up @ 3.30am, opened our stockings and presents from each other (mum always put a milkshake and some poptarts in so we had some kind of breakfast) we used to talk for abit about what we think we might get or would like, then we wud wake mum and dad up at 5am, opend presents and then went back to bed. But i think about 7-8 is a gd time

:santa2: Oooh lots of santas helpers
Welcome to everyone ....
Hopefully we will all be able to sit back and enjoy the Christmas festivities this year. Sipping snowman soup, all snuggled up in fleecy blankets watching a great Christmas dvd. Whilst our Christmas tree lights flicker in the background. Our preasants will be all nicely wrapped under the tree and all our cards would of been posted.Mince pies would of been cooked in preparation for any last minute visitors.
We wont feel guilty for going out to the works christmas party, when we should be at home wrapping gifts.
We will be able to plan our Christmas around making memories. After all the presants are unwrapped, after the tree has been taken down, When the toys have all be shoved into the back of a cupboard. The memories stay with us.:D
Heres to the happiest, organised and stressfree Happy Christmas
Choccy x
Ive been back browsing through the thread and thought it would do no harm to remind everyone of Choccy's quote.....xx3_cheeky_princesses wrote: »I have 4 children and they each have 1 design of paper (different from the other 3) so that i dont have to put a gift tag on every single presnt i know whose is whose by the paper design. My mum used to do that with us, I was one of three, and we all had a different wrapping paper. It was great!!! I knew which were mine, but could instantly analyse if my siblings had bigger/more presents than me! Muahahahaha!!!!!!
About what you said about staying up all night..... when i grew up my xmas's were very different. Im from a Roman Catholic Italian family, who would traditionally go to midnight mass, kids'n'all. We would exchange gifts with our families either at mass, or visit shortly afterwards.
We would go home and have supper (our midnight meal) which was traditionally an italian soup for us that we all loved!! Father Xmas would come whilst we were eating and we would them open our presents and play with our gifts until 3-4-5-6 am!! We would all sleep late the next day, and have a christmas brunch and dinner as opposed to breakfast and lunch.
You would have loved our christmasxx
Oh, can i be included please in the challenge??? I do have stuff on ebay but dont think i said i specifically wanted to be listed! xxxSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying
