Just phoned the FSCS. No record of my form even being received.
Posted Dec 23rd. Probably lying in the back of royal mail truck in a pound somwhere off the A1.
They also told me that theyre not even meeting the 6week turnaround. Because of Christmas apparently. Like Xmas just sprang out of a !!!!ing bush or something. Totally misled.
As far as i can tell, not one person in the UK has received any FRB moneY, 4 months after the bank folded.
This just gets worse.
Any comments Herring? Do you realise how wrong you were?
The FSCS is a shambles. God help us if a big UK bank croaks this year.
Not just because they havent got the money in the scheme in the first place, but also because they couoldnt administer a raffle.
Hopeless. Should have taken the online option. Silly me.
I cant believe i trusted those lying !!!!!!!s.0 -

As far as I can tell, you're the first one, quite fitting as you started this thread! I'm surprised there aren't more reports of cheques being received but maybe everyone's at work. My FRB matured on 16th December, so your news gives me hope!0 -
Just received my FRB cheque today for a December maturing bond. Initially delighted, but then noticed that the accompanying letter stated that interest was only paid up to & including 7th October 2008.
However, I've just been on to them by phone and was told that this is an error, the wrong letters were sent out to some people, that the interest figure is correct for the maturity date and they will be sending another letter to confirm this.
So, don't panic if you get the same letter

Excellent news - congratulations to those already receiving cheques. Mine didn't mature until early Jan so I'll have a little wait yet, but great to hear things are moving.0

Excellent news.
After i sent that mail to the FSCS i had a call back from a senior type, he assured me my cheuqe was being processed this week. Here was i thinking my email had made a difference when it just looks like i was in the loop anyway.
Which is all rather bewildering as they told me, twice, that the had no record of my form being received.
!!!!!!??
Anyway none of this will matter when the dosh finally arrives. I, like you, will be about 2 weeks up, once the rates changes have been factored in.
Not sure it was worth the grief TBH. I wasnt really expecting the cash for another month after what they told me. I went from vaporised paperwork to a cheque in the post in an hour flat.

Congratulations bryan - you certainly deserve it0

Not that it will make you feel any better, but i really dont think the mail made any difference. I was just in the loop.
But im still at a loss to explain how one minute they didnt have my form and an hour later theyre printing off my cheque.
Which, incidentally, didnt arrive today.....
Bonkers.
Best of luck.0 -
I also received a cheque today for a fixed rate account that matured on 7th December (I sent the form back on or around 20 December 2008).
The letter with the cheque says the interest is calculated up to 7 October, however, I can confirm that the amount on the cheque includes full interest to the maturity date as it agrees with my calculations to within a few pence (the cheque is actually a bit higher).
I will be banking the cheque tomorrow, providing my bank still exists by then!
I have two other fixed rate accounts which mature in May and October so hopefully these will also have been processed by now as the details were on the same claim form.0
