I think also, for me anyway, it's that terrible feeling of being "in limbo" until the email actually arrives and we can set the wheels in motion to get the money back into our accounts. Even if you try and do something else to occupy your mind, it's not long before you find yourself back at the PC checking your inbox to see if it's arrived yet “You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

We have all been through the what could have happened thingy and it's now starting to wear thin, we are all very much aware of how much worse off we could have been but the way some people talk it seems that no matter what awful event occurs to us they will keep harping on "yes but look how you might have lost all your money in Icesave etc".
The fact is that many people have been without access to their money for over 5 weeks now and some are getting desperate, I have heard of some people with large bills to pay and very little money to pay with as it's locked in Icesave through no fault of their own, fortunately I am not in that situation but I feel really sorry for those that are, I would happily wait my turn if the worse off people could be compensated first but due to the way it is being carried out it is understandable why people feel that we are not being treated equally anymore with some people having their cash a long way before others with it's advantages for reinvestment and monetry reward.
I can quite understand how people who are desperate for their funds who may face another 2 or 3 weeks wait are starting to get annoyed when many others have access to theirs, and TBH I can see them getting angrier as the weeks tick by.Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

I don't much like the FSCS's 'The vast majority of savers will receive their compensation by the end of november' either. So, are they admitting that there may be some who have not been sent the 2nd email by the beginning of december? Or do they refer to those who have elected not to be paid straightaway?
The lack of tangible information is terrible. Personally, if I have not received the email by next thursday I shall be raising an almighty stink.0 -

Exactly! And prior to this I took it to mean that those who hadn't received compensation by the end of Nov would be the ones who chose to leave accounts to mature, plus maybe a small minority who might need to use the paper route if, for e.g. they no longer have a valid nominated account to return the money to.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
Just to rub salt into our various wounds, if the figure of £250 million paid out so far is correct then a total of 10,000 emails would mean roughly an average payout of £25,000.
I think this figure is quite plausible as I have heard of some really big payouts ( 200k plus)and multiple accounts (4 per person) to balance out smaller ISAs and small easy access amounts .
That leaves the unpalatable possibility that the Mail is right and only 10,000 emails have gone out IN TOTAL.
IT WOULD ALSO MEAN THAT ONLY ABOUT ONE TWELTH OF THE TOTAL
INVESTED HAS BEEN PAID SO FAR.0 -
Morning all.
According to Mail on Sunday online:
"By friday the FSCS said it had sent emails to 10,000 of 200,000 Icesave account holders, inviting them to apply for refunds, and paid out £250 million.
What happened to the 10,000 emails a day?0 -

Which would leave approximately 8 weeks to pay everybody.

I interpreted the £250 million figure as being actual money paid out so far - i.e. BACS payments made last week, presumably the earliest being Wednesday, so 3 days of payments coming to £250 million. I think the Mail is reporting it wrong with 10,000 emails all last week. I think it meant to say 10,000 PER DAY all last week. I could be wrong, but I know how unlucky I am and how unlikely that makes me to be in the first 5% of account holders to make a claim!0
