Well, I've just been a virtual spending spree and spent several thousand £££££
Just as well I closed all the sites before checking out otherwise I wouldn't have any need to worry where to put my Icesave money when it eventually comes back  :rotfl:“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Sorry, but I don't think that's anywhere near acceptable.
At this rate, the FSCS really WILL be taking it to the wire, with thousands still not compensated by the 4th December "get in touch" deadline.
That means some "lucky" people will have had a full month's interest over others.
No, no, no.
That's not right at all.
Although with this being a unique situation (so many people making withdrawals in such a small space of time) it would seem sensible to pilot the process and guage infrastructure loading to make sure all goes smoothly.
Of course we'd all like all our money NOW but hey, its hapening and I think a lot of people are losing sight of the other scenarios, i.e. Iceland not paying out and everyone having to wait for 3 - 6 months for payments up to £50k and people over £50k not being safeguarded.
But, hell, why not.............. I want my money now and damn the consequences (boo hoo, boo hoo)

Thank you for your equally mature response.
Damn the consequences of sending out 10,000 emails a day as promised?
Well, I wonder what they would be? The only consequence I can see is that people get their money back within the promised timeframe.
What scenario do you see? Armageddon? Iceland sinking into the see? Pray tell.
Look, I'm a reasonable person. IF just 10,000 emails have been sent out so far, that is not acceptable.
If the Daily Mail is wrong, then it's they who should check their facts.
I don't see why I should be attacked or painted as some spoilt child.0 -
I've got as much chance of getting the 2nd email tonight as Daniel has of surviving the x Factor vote!
Bookies 4 to 5 odds on favourite to be eliminated, virtually a "singing cert"
£25,000 would, in 2 hours, have netted an 80% gain of £20,000; as opposed to my Icesave punt of 7% over a year. If only I had the bottle to follow my instincts and invest in the guaranteed lack of talent of British talent instead of the very uncertain talents of Icelandic bankers.
PS If Daniel's or Icesave solicitors are forum members don't even consider litigation for libel, at present all my funds are still tied upIn memory of Chris Hyde #8670 -
What's the odds on Rachel leaving next week? I'd have a punt at that if I were you“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

According to Mail on Sunday online:
"By friday the FSCS said it had sent emails to 10,000 of 200,000 Icesave account holders, inviting them to apply for refunds, and paid out £250 million.
What happened to the 10,000 emails a day?
Surely they must mean 10,000 per day? (fingers crossed)0 -
Hello stranger! Thought you'd abandoned us poor mortals today“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

We all know it's unique and we accept that it has to be done gradually but if reports are true and it is 10,000 sent over 6 days that is totally unacceptable.
IMHO the Mail is wrong (they often are) their figures would indicate about 1667 emails per day roughly if their website would fall down with just 1667 people per day logging in then then that would be a very poor show indeed.
In my mind there is no way on earth that they could pay back most of us before November ends if Mail figures are correct and the FSCS do not improve them, it's just not possible.0 -
I suspect the DM meant to say "10,000 sent each day over the last 6 days" - he says with optimism ... (no I haven't had mine yet - either -
the 2nd e-mail that is ........)0
