  • Yay you got a car ...woohoo!!! Roll on saturday!! I'm well excited for ya!!:j :j :j

I'm off to Wakefield this weekend, doesnt seem that long ago that I arranged it all , can't believe its almost here... I have been going on the sunbed a bit, not normally my thing but I thought a bit of colour in the cheeks wouldnt do much harm ! I am well hoping for a snog, even if it means playing snag-a-trog haha I don't mind playing that tho, its the only game I ever seem to be able to win  I've bought a hair dye aswell...£5 ! I normally spend £60 at the hairdressers getting it done!! I will need a trim though but that shouldnt rob me too much!

Thanks guys & :hello: & welcome to mammamia,

I've been pondering this 'help' books thing ... what worries me is that I may discover that I'm totally incompatible with males in the long term relationship sense  I've become very independent over the years, enjoy my own space & dont like being controlled.

I'm so keen to annhilate my debt that I'm seriously considering a challenge to ignore men for a year  Dating is expensive & time consuming & most of all very very distracting ;) .

Bowski - I wish you luck on your snogathon at the week end

    Hi eco,

thanks I'm looking forward to driving a car that's 5 rather than 14 years old, mostly because the current one takes 5 miles or 20 minutes for the heating to become effective . In winter I wear a pair of my mums leather gloves & feel like I should also be wearing a 1950's style headscarf too ;) .

Hi mammamia2, good luck with the job, I hate that part where you're waiting to hear back from them, welcome to the thread, everyone here is so funny and friendly, but beware if you want to join us that you are banned from leaving:D

Am beginning to feel quite lonely in my self help book appreciation.

*looks around for Buffy for moral support*

Number one self help book fan club reporting for duty! :T

    Looks up at shelf

"what colour is your parachute" - career help
" how to succeed with men" - OH the shame :o:o:o:o:o really there are not enough smilies in the world to explain the shame!!!
"I'd rather been single then settle" - quite good actually:o

oh my God there are so many of them

    holy crap.

French women don't get fat, the rules, another career book, books on how to sleep ( er well I could try reading!!) book on how to make money outside of your job, organising books

Blimey I could open a library!!!!!!!!!
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Looks at bedside table after weekend root around.

    1. What not to wear. (Slight problem, have nothing that fits.)
    2. It's just a date:o (actually quite good, but only on how not to be clingy, not on how to actually find someone)
    3. Perfect Housewife:o :o:o:o (slight problem. No house. Not a wife)
    4. Several books on Cosmic Ordering. :o:o:o:o:o (can't help it, they are my absolute favourites):D
    5. I can make you thin. (Bet you can't). (ooh look, you didn't)

Have several of the books you mentioned lying around somewhere, Buffy. You are not alone.:D Be proud! We shall open a library and retire on the profits!

    Hello book worms et al,

Sarahb & Buffy - next time I have a few days off I'm coming to stay with you to read through your collections, sounds like there's a lot of stuff there I should have studied  . I'm loving the sound of the cosmic ordering & I can now confess to having ' The body shape bible ' which actually is a bloody brilliant book although in retrospect I suspect that it has contributed to my current 'financially challenged' :o status.

I need to go the library tomorrow to stock up I havent got a thing to read :( it'll have to be desperate housewives then .
  • Further contributions to the library:

What Not to Wear - check
The Flirt Coach's Secrets of Attraction (unfollowed)
If I'm So Wonderful, Why Am I Still Single (still wonderful, still single :D )
The 7 Rules of Success (ignored)
The Commitment Chronicles (this is the inner armadillo one)
Why Men Marry Some Women and Not Others - How to Increase Your Marriage Potential by up to 60% (  :o:o:o there just aren't enough embarrassed smilies on the board, the reason it is still hiding at the bottom of a pile is because I'm too embarrassed to leave it in the To Charity Shop box in case my flatmate sees it - in my defence, I bought it following the news that a recent ex was engaged to a former mutual friend so I was not of sound mind at the time)
Never Be Late Again - revisited but my work colleagues would dispute that this has had any effect at all
3 coaching books on time management, money management (!) and successful dating - all ignored

    However...
7 Habits of Successful People - actually a very good and sensible book
16 Ways to Love Your Lover - the MBTI psychological type one, and the only one I do refer to (main lesson learned - some people need to be told things out loud)
Type Talk at Work - the work relationships version, and lives on the shelf over my desk

Hurrah to Lula re. your pretty car :T

    Bowski -
    snag-a-trog
    ... :rotfl:

No other news from me but off on training course tomorrow so hoping for talent there!
