    Morning All :D

Thank you all for the congrats .. you really made me feel special

Still feeling worn out, tired and like I could sleep for a week ... so definitely an early night for me tonight. We are heading home after lunch and spending the remainder of the afternoon using up apples whilst making a badger den for DD's homework project.

OS wise apart from apple cooking and preparing s/wiches for the week and getting washing sorted out that'll be me for the afternoon.

For tea we are going to have l/over sausage s/wiches as having a full roast for lunch so no need to cook tonight :D

Hope everyone has a lovely sunday and big (((HUGS))) to all who want/need them xx

    Morning all,

chocolate.orange, so sorry to hear about your son. I hope the dentist will be able to help him this morning.
smoky, I hope you start to feel better soon.
ivyleaf, it's a shame you missed the show, I know how much you were looking forward to it. Have a great holiday.
    jet, congratulations on yesterday!

I'm still enjoying having dd home.:j Although it's costing a a bomb having her here. I was a bit extravagant getting all her fav food in for her coming home and I've done an online shop to be delivered to her when she gets back. Add to that buying her flights, some winter clothes and boots and books she'll need as well as coffees and lunches out, I've spent a small fortune. :o But it's been worth it.:D One thing hasn't changed though. As ds2 said, ''Mum didn't you spend all day Thursday cleaning and sorting out dd's room? Well, it looks like a pigsty again!''

I had a late night last night and was looking forward to a lie in this morning. No chance. Dad (who we go to see every Sunday in life) called early this morning and woke the whole house, just to check we were coming. I'm not doing a roast today but making lasagne at dd's request. This afternoon we might go for a walk as the weathers lovely or maybe just slob in front of the fire. Just the kind of Sunday I like.:D

    Have a good day all!

Just a quick update from me

Police have been to see my son and they have some great news. They have the $£^^$£"s in custody. So even though my son is still aching and bruised hes feeling alot happier now.
We have to wait until just after 12 to ring the emergency dentist. So not too sure what to expect there.

Thankyou everyone for your kind thoughts and wishes. I have passed them on to my son. He did look at me quite strange though. But he knows how much i love coming on OS and talking about everyone on here.

    Good to hear chocolate.orange.

I wish your DS a speedy recovery.

    PIpkin xxxx

  • Bacon rolls, mmm.. I had a free one yesterday for helping at Uni. Think I may be having one at home shortly…!

Celyn, if an ex-boss tried ringing me about work when I had left somewhere quite a while previously (or a current boss on Xmas day come to that!) I would be very, er, unpolite…..
My ex has now asked me if I would “look after” his TV.. Aaargh… he really does not get that I don’t want his stuff here, giving him more excuses – not that he needs excuses – to keep popping round. I would have been the same as you if someone still had stuff left after a couple of years. I’m sure the charity shops would have appreciated it all :o
Redruby, Brighton Primark on a weekend…?! You brave brave brave soul….
Ivyleaf, what a shame you couldn’t make to the show. Hope you feel better soon.
Troo, what a lovely Christening present, that looks very cute. DD came in at 9 & was very firmly told if her room wasn’t done COMPLETELY by the end of the day, she will be moved out of it, and one of her sister’s in there instead!!! Haven’t seen her since.. ;) I keep finding all sorts of stuff missing from my room & am sure it’s all in there. I have now put a padlock on my bedroom door
ChocolateOrange, your poor DS L Hope it isn’t too painful to get it all fixed again & that the culprits are caught (and preferably have their own teeth knocked out too).
Mummysaver, the whole point of having children is to be able to embarrass them!!!! (I tell my DD’s that all the time :rotfl: )
Smoky, (((hugs)))) make sure you take it easy while you don’t feel well. There are some horrible bugs around.
Blairweech, you spend a lot of time in bed. It’s an important decision!!!!

Redruby –Rocky Road is scrummy. To make my version I bung a large spoonful or two of cooking marg in a pan, along with a couple of large dollops of syrup, and a couple of large spoonfuls of cocoa powder. Melt together slowly. Then stir in a heap of battered/squashed digestives (I try for a mixture between fine crumbs with some larger lumps). You’ll have to judge the amount as you don’t want it too dry, but nor too sticky. I also add squashed nuts (not my ex’s, lol!!!) of whatever description you fancy - I prefer hazelnuts, a handful of raisins (you could use glace cherries or any other dried fruit you like) and once that lot is stirred together & coated in chocolate I add marshmallows. I do them last otherwise they simply melt totally. They’ll still go all runny though. Then pack into a small traybake style tin (or an 8” round one) & chill in the fridge. I line the tin with clingfilm so its easier to get the stuff out. Sometimes I melt some chocolate and coat the top with that, then plonk more marshmallows into that, otherwise a thick layer of just icing sugar is nice. I’m dribbling writing this. Must go & make some NOW!!!!!

Chocolate orange - that's awful, so glad they got them though. Have they done much damage to his teeth? Hope he starts to feel a little less sore soon.
candygirl - hugs for you and your dad
Hester - I have to hide cold meat too - doesn't matter what size it is, OH will put it in a sandwich and say it's a snack :o
Smoky - hope you start to feel better
lynseyann - have fun with the new van.
mummysaver - :rotfl: :rotfl: my mum used to do that to my brother - now he's 6'4'' he gets his own back by running down the road after her shouting "mummmmmeeee" and jumping on her :rotfl:
pipkin - I don't peel potatoes either if I can help it; I convince myself that the skins must have fibre in so must be healthy therefore it would be wrong to peel them :D
troo - that's really cute - what a lovely gift and timeless gift :) I still have the bible I was given for my Christening by my godfather; if I ever have children, then I will pass it to them.

Celyn did you get your dissertation in? Hope you get some sleep soon.

Yep. 2 hours before my four year deadline expired on friday :rotfl: It's full of spelling mistakes, but I get to correct all those after the viva ... so glad it's done. I think I've forgotten what sleep is like :o thanks for all the good wishes everyone :grouphug: :grouphug:

Squiggly - We've tried that, but he's really scary and it just washes over him. I've had to unplug the phone before because he wanted stuff for a presentation that he hadn't started writing until the morning before the lecture and kept calling me until 3 am. I had eleven e-mails and voice messages in thirty minutes that night after I unplugged it - all berating me for ignoring him. He just doesn't give up. Unfortunatly he's very very devious too, so proving he does these sorts of things is quite difficult. I did think about reporting him for nusicance calls once but I didn't have the guts to go through with it :rotfl: Someone did report his mobile as lost to his network provider once though and got it blocked for a week - that was genius :D

OH's ex sent "presents" at the start - normally religous literature  was a little freaky at the time. I'd have posted those straight back with no note as well, but OH said he didn't want to upset her. I'm not saying I don't like his caring streak, because it's really cute, but I do sometimes think that a short sharp shock is kinder in the long run. The excuses bemuse me though as they get more and more bizzarre - I keep expecting her to phone and ask him to come round and collect some toenail clippings or something like that  I *dread* to think what's in this bag of stuff she says has  She doesn't call round though - thank heavens - I'm very glad I don't have a pet rabbit...

I want... I...*need* rocky road now :D :rotfl: .... mental note to get some marshmallows on the way home

Well done on finishing your dissertation, and don't worry about spelling mistakes.Mine was full of typing errors when I handed it in, in the days when computers were only for the rich peeps:o :o It was then bound upside down at the Uni, and I still got an ok mark:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

    HI everyone

Smoky - I do hope you start feeling better soon.

Choc Orange - how awful for your poor DS. When I was a dental nurse we used to get lads in whose teeth had been broken and it always upset me because I hate seeing good teeth ruined. Having said that, it's amazing what dentists can do these days and my boss used to work really hard at correcting the damage and took great pride in his work. Your son will probably need x-rays and so on before a plan of action is decided on. (((Hugs))) to him.

Squiggly - that Rocky Road sounds wonderful. I'm going to print the recipe off, thanks.

Well, he's finally gone to work. He was going to leave at 10 then decided to go at 9, then we got talking about the financial meltdown and he didn't leave until 11. I should have started my baking while we were talking but he kept putting the kettle on! Anyway, we have decided to hibernate if things get that bad and wake up in the Spring! I wish! Let's hope all the meetings going on around the world will have some positive results for all of us.

Well, the weather is gorgeous today. Realy warm and sunny - it is making such a change from all the gloom, isn;t it?

(((Hugs))) to everyone and see you later.

Celyn, Mioliere - and anyone else who fancies - Rocky Road round mine in a minute then??? I have LOTS of bags of marshmallows in the cupboard.... (Kathy, I wouldn't quite call it a recipe, more of a concotion.. lol) :EasterBun
Religious literature... erm, interesting..... I must say I was thinking of posting some leaflets about anger management to exOH's newest ex... lol!!! (she has some issues in that department).

Candygirl, hope your Dad is ok and not too uncomfortable (((hugs)))
Bootsalebabe, I can't watch any sort of horror(or scary) film - I'd never sleep again!!!

Anyway, am actually having quite a constructive morning with my online research (despite getting distracted by MSE!). Have settled on a topic & just trying to formulate that into some questions. I love government policy & legislation, lol!!!
