Has it been stable since removing Comodo? Obviously more memory will be beneficial but would just like to know what the root cause of the problem was.
He had the freezing issue WAY before installing comodo. I asked him to install it purely to see if there was any spyware trying to access the internet (And in the belief he had sorted the memory):idea:0 -

I asked a simple question!I had a lot of freezing last night, so I uninstalled Comodo and turned on the Windows firewall again, and Tea Timer. Didn't have any more freezes after that (yet). I have a lot of work to do in Word so I figured that was the priority for now. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Not entirely. It did seem particularly unstable after installing Comodo - three of four freezes in one evening, say, rather than just one.
So any links for the best sources of the memory I need?0 -
Im not havin a go Espresso
Im trying to say that he was having freezing issues exactly as you have put there (comodo uninstalled, tea timer on etc) ~ which is how it was originally
Im under the impression it will all be sorted once the rams upgraded:idea:0 -
Personally I have never seen a PC running XP with 256MB freeze, so believe that there is more to this.
If you need to use Amazon, here are some choices, with 1GB giving better value for money than 512MB:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

What about Slot 3? Your PC is throwing up all sorts of confusion.
Maybe we can clear it up once and for all if you tell us the brand and model number of your PC.0 -

Mine used to do so, though not with such frequency. Once I added another 256MB it was a lot better. But it could be an issue with XP3.0 -

How can the make, model, colour etc. provide any more useful information than that given by the actual motherboard specification? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
