Sexymouse and Laura recipe for snickerdoodles (although Ive not worded it exactly for obvious reasons:

Half a cup of butter/Marg (I use Mr T unsalted butter)
1 cup sugar (again, I use brown sugar-they come out crunchier)
    A quater teaspoon bicarb
A quater teaspoon cream of tartar
    1 Egg
    Half a teaspoon vanilla

One and a half cups of plain flour
    For Topping:
    2Tablespoons sugar
    1 tablespoon cinnamon

    Cream butter and sugar together
Add Bicarb and cream of tartar
    Beat in egg and vanilla
    Gradually add flour
Cover and chill for an hour

    Combine sugar and cinnamon
Shape dough into 1 inch balls
Roll ion cinnamon mix to coat
Bake at 375F or 190C for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned.
    Allow to cool
    Makes approximately 36 cookies.

I think its brilliant. It converts everything by ingredient. So Ive done the bins and thats it-been on the phone for an hour but the vetkoek is on its way. DF is sufficiently inebriated so I intend to have him hoover before bed. DS got up on the counter to play with the flour then pushed it onto the floor. DF joined in by walking in the flour and traipsing it through the house:eek::eek::eek:Thank goodness I didn't do the floors earlier. I think I've had enough for now and might go and watch my home and away:)
  • Well, I've stuck to my work to rule today. I didn't turn on phone or laptop before 8 and turned off just before 6. Only 1 candidate out of 6 turned up, so anything she did today is already uploaded and referenced.

Boddy - Thank you for the welcome.

Managed to get all my dailies done before I went out apart from: Groom dogs and cats
And this is what I've got left:
Manic Monday - Kitchen, Utility and Dining Room/Area
    Level One
Clean floors in these areas - it's chucking it down so won't last 2 seconds with my 2 woofers, so I'll see what it' like tomorrow
    Level Two
Kickboards - will do when I wash the floor
    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in dining area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Clean the oven if missed last week or it needs it
Extra tasks - if you want to do more:
Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms
Wipe down any tiles and shine those taps, a toothbrush is great for cleaning away the gunk!
Empty one shelf (or the top of a cupboard) clean it, clean what's on it and put it all back

Our Wii Fit finally arrived today, so I'm going to do the ironing then maybe have a go on that as I didn't make it to the gym tonight!

Nearly forgot - My Moving Tip - never get rid of your packing crates! My MFO boxes are still in the attic as I've moved house 28 times!
Might be the newport in pembrokeshire?? Small village very nice
I think it probably was! Although there are some very nice houses in Newport, I wouldn't describe it as a lovely place.

Pigpen - The cake is beautiful and so is DD4 & Kitty!

I cooked some sausages to start a casserole for dinner but DH finished it while I finished off my work. DS's BF has just come back from the Med where he's been teaching sailing for the summer, so DS, GF, BF and BF's GF and a few more have gone to the Harvester for dinner - in suits and posh frocks! for a welcome home dinner. :T

    Dusty - 16 in November (17th)

Up to last page (so far) so I'm off to do my ironing pile. Maybe back later.

    Evening all,

Got a lot in the kitchen done. Now another load of washing is sitting in here to be done, oh well. Floor was much easier to do this week, woohoo, only took about 5 mins. Back-breaking but 5 mins. Plus hairy spider walking about did maybe increase my flying time!

Greenbee – that’s a good idea. Quote: every time you go up the stairs, take something that needs to go up; every time you go down, take something that needs to go down. Thanks Greenbee. No excuse, plus it's so unsafe to be cluttered.

Pink Fairy – to put our hall curtain up, we took 1 pole and fitted it in between the two walls (not enough room to hang it the traditional way against the flat of the wall). Used 2 wardrobe end bits. They are circular with a raised bit in the middle. This may help. We fitted ours so it will take 90” curtains – can often get these on special offer or as oddments. Have a photo but am lost how to insert these - help!

  • I have had another pretty good day - thanks to doing some of my filing I was able to find the paperwork I need and do the phone calls connected!! Brilliant - i wish I hadnt put it off so long!!
I have phoned and arranged for gas meter and electric meter to be changed
I phoned and changed the bank details on direct debits
I phoned to change my home phone package
So these were all jobs on my urgent list and now done - so easy - thank you all!!
    Still to do

Monday Mop- Kitchen and Dining Room
Wipe kitchen table.. (clean table cloth if necessary) maybe next week!!
    Level Three
Dust any extra furniture in eating area, checking for cobwebs on way round
Wipe all the windows in these areas!!
Wipe out a dirty cupboard... get rid of everything you no longer need and make it all pretty and tidy!
    Extra Mission : help yourself
    done them all!!!

    Done all the easy bits!!!
Wrapped a new baby present and took it to post office
amalgamated all the filing/paperwork/junk stuff thats left - now only have 2 piles to go through!!! getting there!!

And another first for me - I have put my breadmaker on!!! Its only taken me 11 months! lol :rotfl: I got it last year from my brother for my birthday and havnt had the courage to use it - what a wimp!!! Anyway I know its not proper breadmaking like all you good flyladies do but I have put in a 'wrights bread mix' - only becayse I had it (and a few more!) and they need used! I really want to make it properly and realise now it will b cheaper if I do but i will use these up first - need the room in cupboard for flour!!. Its not finished yet but smells good - its parmesan and sundried tomato.

will let you know shortly what its like!!

    toots xx

    Peace will be mine

  • Well the new plan is I will print off the new list everyday that way I won't get confused and I won't ever know whats coming next :j :j In the abscense of this plan however I combined last weeks Monday with this weeks and have achieved the following:

Monday Mop- Kitchen and Dining Room
    Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces
    Sweep and mop floors
Wipe dining table.. (clean table cloth if necessary)
Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc

Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances ..
    Extra Mission : help yourself
    1. S&S over the hob and oven - does it count if I have a self cleaning oven 500 degrees and the dirt just burns away :T :T
    2. Empty the bin.. wash it out.. and make it smell heavenly
Monday Melee - Living Room, Hall and Stairs
Vacuum through the living room, hall and stairs
    Dusting, even if around everything
Remove clutter making sure stairs especially are safe
Open a drawer.. sort the junk within!

And the whole flylady thing provoked the OH to make tea :rotfl: :rotfl: I think he may get hooked to this whole malarky a tidy house, a more contented OH what more can a man ask for? He's even excited about the control journal and wants to fill it with our potential new plumbers name :j :j

Off to watch some telly and put my feet up... don't work too hard

    Hey there,
Well after a productive morning I went out with my friend for some cake, got a couple of x stitches on the way home and nipped to the Coop for some bits.
Finished more cupboard listing after tea, DH helped, so only got the baking cupboard to do now :). Today I also put another chest of drawers in DS's room and re-jigged it a bit (feeling it in my back now though). This is how my on-going list looks plus whatever is added on tomorrow.
Hope all of you are doing ok, not over-doing it, but getting something done too.

    Hello to all newbies

Pigpen - the cake looks stunning and your daughter and the cat are both v cute!
Valli - how were the HHP?

I went up to school today - the drive wasn't too bad although arm is aching lots now!! Anyway, I spoke to the head who had already read my email and she is being supportive. I am going in full time but taking it 'one step at a time' (her words). I think she is relieved to have me back and isn't too worried about paperwork at the mo :D She said I can go and scream / cry in her office anytime and to tell her how it's going and she's not a mindreader!! Got lots done in the classroom - labelling trays, pegs, pigeon holes etc and moving stuff from my old classroom - so not going to go in tomorrow!!

And I have done some flying too - and worked out how to cross stuff off the list:j

Definitely a better day (though I've had my moments!!) so huge thanks to everyone who gave me advice. This thread is great :A
