Has anyone managed to figure out if Smile current account holders are eligible for this yet?

I know this question has been asked a few times earlier on in this thread, but nobody has yet replied.

Chased up my £100 today with the call centre because I was told it'd be paid within a month of account opening.
    :)

Thought you had to pay in 3 x £800 spread over 3 months?

How have you managed yours so quick?

I was told a "£100 within a month" by the branch advisor (see post #19 in this thread), and this has been backed up by the call centre today. Names, dates, times duly noted. :)

Well I haven't got it yet, but I'm hopeful I'll have it by the end of the week. Although the account has been open only just over a month, I have made 2 x £800+ credits (late July/early August).

My daughter decided to use her initiative and applied for this account. Unfortunately she forgot the bit I told her that you had to apply via a branch and she has applied online. Am I correct in thinking that she will not be eligible for the £100??? If so, she could cancel it in the 14 day cooling off period and apply again, but this time in branch,. HoweverI think they would probably look upon such a request as a bit strange if she already cancelled it one time. Any ideas?

Honesty is the best policy! If they ask then she can say why. In an ideal world someone would then suggest she keep the account open and they will arrange to include her in the promotion.

YorkshireBoy - have you used the account for much, i.e. put many transactions through it, or just simply put the credits in and withdrawn them again? Wondering if I should be creating some transactions or money going in and then coming out again would be ok to become eligible for the incentive? As you should now have the money in the linked account (or be very close to getting it) thought you could maybe shed some light!

Since I've never seen any written T&C's (has anyone who opened the account early?) I thought I'd better show a little 'commitment'. ;)

To that end, my account has seen almost every type of transaction other than direct debits. I've done BACS transfers in, cheques in, cheques out, debit card payments, ATM withdrawals, funds transfers, bill payments, and even made cash deposits!

In fact there's been more activity on this account in 5 weeks than I've had in the last 8 months on my FD current account. It's so much easier when there are written T&C's to comply with!

Did you set up internet banking ok? Seem to be having problems getting mine working with the Co-Operative! Have given all the information required, but I'm either 'invalid' or 'not registered'!

You have to phone them up to set up initial access. Be prepared to give about 5 pieces of security information which you will need to remember for logging in.
You've never seen me, but I've been here all along - watching and learning...

I'd used it before (2 years ago) for my old Stroud & Swindon credit card so was already registered.

I needed several guesses (and incurred several 'lock outs') before getting operational again though. :o
