    Try and stay positive, Mel :grouphug:

    At my unit the scan and booking in are done on the same day which takes away alot of stress and apprehension.

    Can you ask the MW to refer you for an early scan?

    I could ask for an early scan, would she wait to do all the bloods an things anyway, or would she wait.

    I'm just being pessimistic, everything is hopefully o.k. it's the not knowing that is killing me

    oh mel, i feel for you. i am 8 weeks with my first and scared enough, without the added pressure you have. giving you lots of positive thoughts.

    i have my first midwife appt this morning too. i'm quite nervous about it. hope she's nice.

    Well, baby is definately Poppy's sibling! :rotfl:S/he totally refused to play ball! :rolleyes:. Baby had its back to my tummy and its arms and legs tucked into, well, the foetal position! I was even sent out to do a wee to see if that made any difference :o. Everything that the sonographer could see was fine but I have to go back on Tuesday morning so she can check the heart, limbs and cord (and hopefully the s@x! :D). So, I'm still in Team Lemon for the time being :p.

    Aaah the little tinker SB, I can't believe baby turned it's back on you!! Hopefully Tuesday will be better.

    Midwife went ok today, had trouble getting blood out of me (as usual) so have ended up with a bruised arm. She said not much point arranging an early scan as I am 9+1 and can have my dating scan from 10wks onwards anyway, so she is sorting that out for me.

    Really looking forward to the scan now, just hope I get a date soon.

    Can you find out the scan at the 12 week scan??? If so I need to get working on hubby sooner than planned (I want to know, he doesn't...)

    :rotfl: yes trousers or skirt and knickers are a must in my opinion! :D

    Well I found out the sex of my son at my 12 week scan and my daughter at about 11 and a half weeks so it is possible - it very much depends on position of baby and whether they can get a clear view I think.
    I checked again the sex at my 16 week scan just to be sure!
    Good luck with hubby - my partner doesn't want to find out so I will have to wait :mad:

    Try not to worry too much Mel - know it's hard - I miscarried by first baby at around 9 weeks too (didn't find out till 12 week scan when there was no h/b) - glad your appointment with midwife went ok - had mine this morning too - my midwife is 7 months pregnant so she got the student midwife to take the bloods and on the 3rd vial she pulled the tube away too quickly and covered my carpet in blood! - she was really embarrassed poor girl! :o
    Think it's going to stain but have cleared it up as best I can!

    Aawww, another little shy one SB!! My little boy was flashing his bits all the way through (no shame!), we would have known the sex even if we didn't want to find out!!

    Mel, I feel for you. Having had 2 early mc's myself before this preg I was very nervous. I was still doing a preg test every week up til about week14, I was tormenting myself trying to analyse that each line was darker than the previous one and if it wasn't I'd cry all evening. I can remember at the 12 week scan being so surprised that there was a baby there with a little heartbeat because I'd convinced myself that something was wrong. Anyway, baby is still fine at 24weeks. So, chin up and think positive vibes, not long to go til your 12 week scan.

    my 1st midwife appt went well. she was lovely. same as mel though, i was not very free with my blood, so much so i didn't give any. She tried four times (she didn't want to but i said i didn't mind). So, it is up to the hospital for me to do my bloods.

    have a heap more things to read tonight now.

    getting a little more real now
