I suggest you call them pronto. they don't make it easy - you need a disconnection code to put in the letter. Used to be Dunstable but i think they changed it to Southampton a while back. When it comes to "organisation" they get the bottom of the pile prize. Make sure you send it recorded delivery; they also have a habit of "not" receiving it.0

thanks for that reply
Yesterday I phoned and I have to phone back on a certain date. I can't do it now, but be on or after the date given.
I've put it in my e-mail calendar, so I don't forget as it's the day after Boxing DAy.0 -

I had the same response from CPW. You have to contact them 4 days before the 30 days notice of the end of your contract (In other words 34 days). Then, and only then, will they give you a 'DISCONNECTION CODE' to send to an address which they will only give you at the time of call and not before.
You could not make it up it you tried!!!!! :rotfl:0 -

and the issue?
To be honest why do you need it weeks before when you cant write til 30 days
It just stops them having to tell folk who forget them 30 times in a month:rolleyes:0 -
What rot! It stops people cancelling on time so they get extra dosh.0

'Iamthesmartestmanalive' Really? :rotfl:
You obviously have no knowledge of CPW and their activities, you prove it by the post above.
There are forums are full of postings as to the problems of cancelling CPW contracts. In CPW/o2 T&C it states that you have to give a minimum of 30 days notice to the address as listed, there is no mention of any disconnection code, no mention of 4 day before the 30 days notice and no secret address. This breaches their own T&C, but as you do not seem to know, CPW are a law unto themself.
This is the reason why very few people ever renew CPW contracts, it was reported that they lose more customers at the end of contracts in all the telecoms industry. The reason why VF withdrew from allowing CPW selling monthly contracts, Sadly you only learn these things the hard way, but you do learn !
To answer you, This is the issue.
Mobilejunkie have you to contact CPW the same day as me, I'll keep you informed as to my progress. :beer:0 -
Not sure that's the case - I've only ever had to cancel one so far on cpw O2 and the next won't be for several months. However, you will now also find that new contracts go to O2 direct - and they're even worse about cancelling! They don't even seem to give you four days before the 30! It's one area were Orange are superb, as are Virgin. Networks take note if you're reading this; your short-term underhand tactics will misfire with many of us, who will vote with our feet!0

Recently had to cancel 2 contracts with CPW and E2save. I found that the DRN number needed to apply for the PAC code is 58855885 in both cases, and so I assume its not customer specific. Thus another barrier set up by CPW to impede contract termination.
You need to send to the Southampton address and letter need to have your contract number and mobile number.0 -

I called CPW/o2 at the HQ in West London to gather all the info needed for the cancellation of contract as I had read the tricks that they get up to. When I was told to phone back 4 days before the 30 days notice to get the address and disconnection number I asked if it was the Southampton address. I was told it wasn't but it will be given to me when I called on the correct day. Very 007ishh or is it?
This is all bull s**t, it's a ploy to delay and get a further month or two payments from the customer. Yet Ofcom allow such practices to continue, why? Is there an employee from CPW out there that will give an honest answer or even a reason why?0
