We make xmas dust to give to friends and also sell it at xmas fair using oats and glitter.we make labels and laminate them to using this little rhyme
Christmas Dust
When Santa's sleigh is full of toys,
ready for Christmas day
Use this special Christmas Dust
To help him find his way.
Sprinkle it outside your door
The glitter will give the light
The reindeer will smell the oats
And bring Santa on Christmas night.
Our kids love Christmas Dust.lost my way but now I'm back ! roll on 2013

Just wanted to mention that glitter is not environment friendly and could harm the wildlife. Another option is to use the silver balls used for cake decoration which you can find in the supermarket. [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]

I use oats and very small amount of glitter and mix just enough to be seen on my front step.I put it in a small bag and print and laminate the above verse.I actually reuse it year after year.On xmas eve the kids read the verse and sprinkle the magic dust on the door step, then leave their magic key( as we don't have a chimney) just before bed. It's really exciting.Santas reindeers then see the light from the glitter and guide him to our home where he leave us lovely gifts and the reindeers enjoy the oats:)
Hope this helps and you have as much fun as we do.lost my way but now I'm back ! roll on 2013

Just started reading this thread and was about to post the same.
We use hundreds and thousands to add a bit of colour instead of the glitter.0
