Just had a clear out of all the 1p books I listed when I started - off to the charity shop. Came back and two other books had sold! Must do that more often.
I've got a problem. Quite often I get books and go to list them and then start going through them and then think 'that will come and handy one day' and then I put them in a pile to keep. My pile 'to keep' is growing bigger!0 -
Hi guys,
I may have just potentially stumbled across something that can make/save us money, and help us all when we don't know what books to buy.
Picture the scene... you're in a charity shop, there is a textbook, it is 3 years old, your not sure if it will sell...it costs £2.50...it's a big risk if it won't sell... what shall I do?
There have been some pretty good suggestions in the past like, writing or texting or dialling the ISBN no.s into your phone, then coming back and buying it later.
I have just found out that amazon are now available on the web-based internet on mobile phones. I signed up for a pay as you go mobile internet on my phone, so it only costs when I use it, I just had a look. It won't search by isbn but it will by title and I did a couple of tests and it came up with the books I was searching for, and it tells you the marketplace price as well as amazon's price! :T
I can't wait to use it now - hopefully I will never by a dud book again!
Now I don't know how much it will cost to do it regularly but I would think the cost would outweigh the lost money, the 2nd trip to the charity shop and the money you gain by getting books that will sell.

Can I have a number please - can it be 49 (dont know why but I like that number) as I dont think I asked for one whe I started posting?
Went to make sure I had bank details entered to find out I had sold something else - last thursday 17th, but I didnt receive an email. Is this normal? I've checked both my accounts and there were no emails from amazon on that date.
Now I've had to apologise and send 1st class today. Oh well, it was for £39.5 inc ppThe curve that can set a lot of things straight is a smile0 -

Hi Hilary,
You have just brought up a classic problem - not getting emails.
To make sure it doesn't happen again check your 'seller account' regularly, not your emails for sales. I check mine in the morning and then in the afternoon to catch the last post - I have it on 'favourites' to make it a quick process.
Sounds as though you are doing really well for sales!

Hilary, it's Seller Account then 'Your recent market place orders' and handle everything from there including contacting your buyer.
It's the marketplace orders page that I have on Favourites.

Hi Hilary
Number 49 is yours -
I'm suprised that your buyer hasn't queried the missing book by now - as Ana says the only way to be certain is to check everyday just to make sure that you haven't missed anything0 -
I had a book to list of which there was only 1 other copy - one of the silly £40-odd from America. I did all my usual checks, and listed it for £15.
It sold within 10 minutes to an address in Mayfair, so I am now pointlessly kicking myself! How does the 'sorry madam, there's a supplement you have to add on because of your postcode' work?0 -
I see Amazon are having some weird problems again.
I tried to list a !!!!!! Francis book using the iSBN, and it just kept coming up as a Roald Dahl book. I even cleared cookies and such like and still it told me i had a Roald Dahl book.
I put it aside and have just tried it again so I could do a screen capture for Amazon and this time it came up correctly.
I also completely failed to find any Geoffrey of Monmouth books, and now there are dozens of copies.

Hi All,
I've just listed a hardback novel on Amazon at £5.75, yet there is another hardback version of the same novel (different publisher) at a penny. There is only 12 months between the publishing dates.
Is anyone likely to buy the 5.75 one when there is a penny version? Should I list mine as the penny version and put the publisher details in the blurb?
Opinions P L E A S E !Life should be a little nuts; otherwise it's just a bunch of Thursdays strung together.0
