Need more help!

Started my xmas mincemeat, following the delia online recipe http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/home-made-christmas-mincemeat,1235,RC.html

Messed up though and put the brandy in with everything else at the beginning. Should I just carry on and pretend it didn't happen?

Also, pickling onions, how long do I leave them covered in salt for?

I'm not useless, just still learning!

Shel

Quick head's Up!
Altho you may already know, MrT's frozen BBQ meat & stuff is Half Price, SIZE=1]so we've the Rosemary Lamb kebabs tonight that I've been looking at all 'summer'
I saw OATMEAL with the dried pulses & stuff, in the Whole Food bit of our MrT today--currently in the same aisle as crisps & sweets... looked very much like couscous Egon!
Some serious belt-tightening happening cuz a new washing machine may be needed, but hoping to get away with "only" paying for a local repair man & new parts :o Sig updated.

3lb mango flesh, diced
1lb onions, chopped
1.5 lb sugar
1 pint vinegar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp mustard seed
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp salt

Bung everything into a saucepan, boil for 1 hr or until most of the liquid has evaporated. Bottle and seal.

P.S. Spices can be missed out, swapped for something else you have knocking about in the cupboard, quantities changed if you like one more than the other - it does help to have a similar amount of "sweet" and "hot" spices, though, and seeds add texture - caraway or cumin instead of mustard would also work well. You can also add grated fresh ginger if you like, or swap chilli powder for fresh chillies.
• Hi All

What a miserable day. Well another NSD wasn't going to get out the car on the way back home from work to buy anything and get soaked. Lets hope the weekends better. Have a good weekend all.

hi everyone,
nsd for me again - but need fruit etc so tomorrow will be another story.

browsing through dfw last night had my lightbulb moment and decided to find out what was owed where exactly - nearly died! the only one in my sig not accurate is asda cc - waiting for statement.

what i'm trying to say in a very longwinded way is that gc has to be away of life for me now there's no way i want to still be paying my mortgage in 2022:(

Hello all, just updating my sig, i got 1lb green back bacon and 2lb mince from the butcher for £5.89, i also spent £3.77 in Somerfield on 5kg of spuds, 12 pitta breads, and 8 tins of Branston baked beans.

I used 1lb of the mince for a cottage pie for tea, can't beat comfort food when it's cold and rainy can you yummy!!
