He seemed to think it was 'odd'! He also thinks that Jacob is an odd name too though.

Do you know any cats called Toby? Everyone knows a cat (or dog) called Toby.

Oh, saw the childminder. She was lovely, and Toby really like her. She held him the whole time we were there, he didn't cry and even laughed for her! But she has a dog and her house is a bit messy :o

I don't think I can leave my baby. OH says he will use his flexitime to look after Tobes while I have appointments. Just need to teach him how to change him and feed him!
I don't think it's odd and surely Jacob is far too common to be remotely odd.

*racks brain* Ah yes, my Auntie's friend has a dog called Toby.

I don't think I could ever leave my child with someone with a dog either. I know most dogs are okay but I've heard too many stories about babies/young children and dogs. (And I was bitten by a relatives dog.)

And :j that your husband has agreed to do something to help you get to the apointments.

I know what you mean, we have had a couple of people call LO Harry instead. If I wanted him called that then I would have called him Harry ( although my Grandpa was always called Harry and his name was actually Henry)
People do it backwards too. I knew someone called Harry and people would annoy him by calling him Harold.

Just had a big old cry - OH is being such a PITA lately. I know he's bored being home and the 2 of us are rubbing each the up the wrong way but he says I am wasting too much time on here instead of looking after Jack! He doesn't understand that I'm trying to find ways of lookign after him better!
When my husband said he thought I was wasting time on here, I just pointed out all the things I do which my friends (who go out to groups at least once a day) don't and also all the useful things I'd found out about from here.
When we were walking back from the Doctors this morning, a fly landed on Keira's croissant, and she was like ARRRGH FLY, I said "oh it's just looking for food, it won't hurt you" she said "I'm not food, I'm Keira!!!"

is there any nutritional difference between UHT and "fresh" milk? where i'm on slim fast i'm getting through a LOT of milk atm and its getting a little expensive so i got UHT?
Depends on your opinion. Here are a couple of links I found:
    http://www.chemheritage.org/pubs/ch-v27n1-articles/feature_pasteurization_p3.html
    http://www.westonaprice.org/motherlinda/ultra-pasteurizedmilk.html
I'm sure you can probably find many that say it's fine though.

  • News from my house, we had a good 3 mins of open hands without any persuasion this afternoon :j You have no idea how happy I am that this is working :o We were playing peek-a-boo and he was waving his hands around OPEN :T then he got a bit bored and grouchy and decided he wasnt going to do it again and cryed at me when I tried, but I dont mind, he has been doing really well :D Now just to get him to keep his head turned to my right for longer than 10 seconds, but that one is proving to be a little more difficult

    Yay Dylan :j:j
    Good work MM :D

Those of you that do Formula Feed - how do you store the water while you wait for it to cool?

I sometime put it in the bottles and then put the lids on, but usually just leave it in the kettle with strict instruction to OH not to boil it!

    and congrats to your OH!

Big squidgy hugs to Rhys and Elle!

Congrats Weezl! Don't abandon us to the other thread though!

I'm a little jealous too, but I think I just feel like that because pregnancy was the happiest time of my life.

Hugs to Mel and Elle and Glam and AM and Buttons and everyone who needs them.

(Oh and Bruno, you did fab, well done!)

gah - just pumped for ages and got nothing, nada, diddly bl00dy squat!

I knew there was every chance that although I had a little milk it wouldn't be enough but it's so annoying spending so long faffing about for such a little reward.
I'll keep trying tonight and then see where I get!

OH felt really guilty about earlier so has been extra nice to me :D
Have got a nice cup of RLT and some choccie biccies

It's Chester races on Saturday and we have IL's over - I said we should go but FIL says we can't because of Jack.
Would it be so wrong to take a week old baby to the races if the weather was OK???

You make the effort to keep my company at the hospital and then I don't even comment on your fantastic little boy's acheivement!

    Well done Dylan!!

Oh, I'm having a poo day today.

NMS - how do you keep the water warm for the night feeds? or do u make a fresh feed up in the night?

I'm going to get the TT CTN insulated bottle bags that Mel said about the other day for when we are out and about.
