    oh mel,

that sounds horrible. just forget about it now. you've got plenty to be getting on with and plenty of people that will want to include you. sorry it went so badly though.

    Thank You

I suppose I was just hoping for something a little bit more memorable....or at least that they might have shown that they are even a teeny bit sad that I'm not going back:confused: I had been there 3yrs BEFORE I went on Maternity leave, so not really a short time!!

I just tried her with the dummy again just in case she fancies one now... Nope... She just held it in her mouth for a minute then pushed it out with her tongue... All the while looking slightly bemused at me...

Finally, you are all mums. You are doing a good job and the size of your jeans doesn't even sit in the same ballpark as your mothering.

That was so lovely Bruno it made me cry *sniffles* This is going to sound tremendously dodgy now but, er, I thought of you last night, well this morning. Celia was only up every couple of hours and my use of the word only amued me! It's interesting how your perspective changes isn't it!

And if you think about it, babies should take roughly 1oz per their age in weeks (so 1-2 for Jack) so he is taking what he should.

Can I ask a really daft question but when does that stop? I mean I assume you wouldn't be having 26 ounces per feed by six months so how does it all work out? (I know chuff all about these things!)

Emlou- Sainsburys do their 1% milk for £1 for 2 litres and Asda have a similar low fat one for 74p for 2 Litres at the moment (although I've not tried that one yet).

OH has got a little job - just doing a bit of work for someone he used to work with and it's half the money he was on before but at least it's something!

Even if he only gets enough to pay half the mortgage that's great!!!

(and of course it gets him out the house ;):j;):j)

Well that has got to be the most traumatic blood test in Rhys' history.. :( Had a trainee doing it, who wasn't doing it right so the experienced one stepped in (all to do with how the hold and squeeze Rhys' ankle to get the blood out his heel), Rhys was screaming his head off, the play worker was insistent I dipped his dummy in the sucrose even though he was too busy screaming to suck on it, then she starts "shhhh"-ing at Rhys so I can't get a word in edgeways, plus my mother had insisted on "helping" by pushing the buggy into the room and stayed sat in the corner with it. All in all making me feel useless and pathetic :(

Then after we thought it was all over, they were talking amongst themselves and mentioned the potassium reading may be higher due to the squeezing so I pointed out he has had problems with high potassium in the past so then they had to do another small sample all over again! :(:(

We went to see the midwives after that (Mum wanted to take them a card and chocolates) so I saw the one who first helped me when I had the big bleed in hospital and a few of the ones who looked after me, plus they remembered it all well enough to remember the other who looked after me so they will tell them about our visit. After that, we called in on the NeoNatal unit too take them card and choc and saw a few more nurses we hadn't seen in a while.. :)

I'm off to get a cuppa and then find something nice to wear tonight - wish me luck! :o

Fritha, up to 6 weeks, then it should ( in theory ) slow down. It's only a rough guide and I think more to reassure parents than anything else.

Weezl, wow, congratulations on the BFP, EDD and now getting over some degree of shock???
