Genus MP4 player £49.99 @ dixons (merged)

Options
Hi, sorry if posted before but have searched and not found it. my daughter bought a Genus MP4 player today in Dixos. It was reduced from £149 to £49.99. It also came with a leather case and a box of cables.
(something to do with playing back on tv!).

It is called Vizo. Cant find it on dixons site so here are the details on the box
1gb flash memory (stores over 500 songs or up to 3 full length movies)
plays mp3/wma & ogg music files, plays mp4/ mpeg1/ mpeg2/ divx and av1 video files, photo viewer (jpeg), usb2.0 voice recorder, usb file storage, line in/out, rechargeable lithium battery 5eq modes

Box includes Genus Vizo USB cable earphones mains adaptor up to 5 hours of continuous video playback.

The cables box (priced at £19.99) includes audio line-out cable
tv line-out cable
audio line-in transmission cable

Because the price had gone down so much the extended warranty was only £9.99 and we got £3 of that.

Checked in Argos and they have the same one on sale at £149

The SA said it went down this morning and wasn't sure how long it would be on offer, but maybe only till next week.

One happy 17yr old despite just finding out she has chicken pox!!

  • Thanks, picked one up from my local Dixons - Churchill Sq, Brighton - still have a few in stock and got the same deal - case, cables and player for £49.99.

Seems very well made, waiting for it to charge up so I can see how good the video is on it. Seems like a real bargain! :j
  • Hubby downloaded ashampoo shrink and burn 2 which compresses films keeping good quality and allowing more films to be stored. daughter got 700mb film reduced to 500mb with excellent quality picture. she also got 7 albums on it and it only half full. she is really impressed and has kept her occupied despite chicken pox!
  • currys have them, but show out of stock on the website

its on the pc world website for £149.99
  • Even for a 1 gig mp3 with leather case £50 is good, so to get all the other features is brilliant.
  • exactly, hmm guess where im going tomorrow:P

  • Have finally charged it for the recommended 4 hrs (first charge) and then having tried a couple of videos compressed using PSP Video 9 (free conversion app - recommended! Search on google for "PSP Video" if interested...) I have to say I'm impressed. The films I've tried so far seem to work very well, should be perfect for my ski hol flight and coach trip!

    Thanks again!
  • Popped into Currys on the way home and was full price there.
    No Dixons near me
  • Thanks OP, just got 1 of 2 left at West Quay, Southampton. Now all i have to do is wait 4hrs for the charge.
  • Genus VIZO 1Gb Multimedia Player available in-store, reduced from £149.99p to just £49.99p at Dixons. That's a great price for this very decent looking piece of digital audio hardware. Showing as out of stock online, so in-store only right now..

If it doesn't fit, force it; if it breaks, it needed replacement anyway

Priced at £149.99 in my Currys too :(, but scanned at £49.99 :) I then asked about the cables & case and the CSA was really helpful and did a bit of digging and found them under 'customer offers' so all in including the 3 year accidental damage warranty for £56.98 :) excellent little player and no need to convert my divx files as will play them natively (well that's what it says on the website). Only drawback is it doesn't have an SD slot....

Thanks to OP for a great little bargain (still on the genusdigital site for £159.99 just for the player)!
