OS Fri 1st December 2006

Options
"]Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 1st dec. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well
.

:j Woo Hoo december here at last:j

Lo did not sleep well last night, been up since 4.30 i think:eek:

Plans today:

Decorate remaining tinsel somewhere
Finish off my xmas hampers
general tidy up

Hugs to all
Kyle

Good morning Kyle and to everyone else who follows. I'd forgotten it is the 1st of December today. I'm going to have to plan Christmas now!

Today is the big monthly shop - we hit the three supermarkets and buy a 'months' worth of the staples e.g. SR flour, plain flour, UHT milk for yoghurt making etc.

This weekend is the farmers market - so stocking up there for the freezer and in fruit and veg.

Have a lovely OS day :j
Enjoying an MSE OS life :D

    Hi Kyle

You'll have to enlighten me what's OS?

There's always one aint there :rotfl:

    xx
  • Morning

Got up at the crack of dawn to get my shopping booked at Sainsburys for the 22nd (last day before Xmas that they deliver ;) ) WM and TD are both on, just off to do some ironing, washing up and make the packed lunches.

Work today, but at least it's Friday. Tea tonight will be sausage and pasta bake.

Need to deep clean my lounge as we're putting the deccies up tomorrow :xmastree:

Have a great day everyone (((((hugs)))))
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Good morning kyle, applemint, tweenies, stressedoutmumof1 and everyone else to follow. :hello:

I woke about the same time as you kyle and haven't managed to get back to sleep. The breadmaker is on and I’ve boiled the kettle a couple of times, but that’s about it.

Nothing special planned today. I fancy a day at home pottering and tidying before the weekend. I cooked a gammon in the slow cooker yesterday and was hoping to use the stock from it to make a lentil soup, but the stock was really salty so I think I’m going to have to bin it…….I'll have to have a root around in the freezer to see if I can find more stock or think of an alternative for tea.

Last night of work tonight for a week! :j Unfortunately it mean’s I’ll miss most of the celebrity final. :(

Churchmouse and Aussie, I bet you both look gorgeous with your new hairstyles!
tweenies, Welcome to the daily thread. OS=Old Style
thriftlady, have a lovely birthday! :bdaycake:

Have a good day everyone. :)

    Hi all,
couldn't sleep.....again! So thought I'd get up and have a nose about.

I'm doing my very first ebay listing  , and I'm nervous, which is stupid and dumb :o but I have so much to clear out!

Why can't life be all about cooking and cleaning :rotfl:(I REALLY don't mean that!)

Anyhow today it's an attack on the kitchen tap washer - (why don't plumbers do everything?) A quick clear out of the wardrobe (need more space), and a general tidy. Sort out books and re-arrange boxes in shed.

Foods all prepared - I've still got loads of HM bread left, soup and cooked chicken, which just might re-appear as a pie!

Have a good day all - and just think, in one month from today it'll be 2007:eek:

    Goodmorning everybody,

Wow can't believe it's December already. Where has the year gone. Two months until we fly out now. My roots are now touched up with having foils and not a grey in sight. ;) My wallet is a bit lighter but all in a good cause.

Drat, just got a phone call from the you beaut tiler. He's done his knee cap in and is on crutches. How inconsiderate is that. :D He could have done it AFTER he'd done our job. The tiling hat goes back on.

DD rang up also this morning before I left. DGS threw a great big tantrum on the ferry for her. :rotfl:Well yes, been there and done that. Hope he's good this arv for her. Well better bring in the clothes and do some jobs. Have a lovely day everyone & (((((((((hugs))))))))))
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Morning everyone,
Right, rubbish is out, must get the WM on. I’ve sorted a couple of bags for charity.
Did a fab dish with karahi sauce – saw it on UKTV Food great food live – should still be on their website. PM me if you want it tho. Thoroughly recommend it but not for the feint-hearted, tis strong!
Trying desperately not to buy too much rubbish for Christmas. You know the stuff, marmalade with a hint of fresh blah blah blah! Saw Sainsburys had half price offers on turkeys yesterday.
Right, off to Asdas, then bit of a hoover, then study. Have a great day everyone. Cannot believe it’s 1st December…am not so not sorted for crimble this year. Sadly there’s been a family bereavement (sis’ husband) earlier this year and so it’s definitely taken the edge off things.
Think I will buy some useful pressies such as vouchers – a local coach company does day trips and sell vouchers. Past Times normally has a good sale post-Christmas, so will probably get a few of those vouchers too. Like the hamper ideas that people are doing too. It must be so nice to receive a present you can use! They always say that if you’d like to receive the present yourself, then you’ve done a great job. Hugs all round.
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!"
Less things. Less stuff. More life.

  • Morning OSers :santa2:

I'm sooooooooo tired. Woke up for no particular reason at 1.35am and now I'm so tired I could cry. However did I managed with night feeds? :o I did however manage to read most of "The Bad Mother's Handbook" by Kate Long. It had me laughing and crying in equal measure, which is a bit of a problem with The Human Furball trying to sleep next to me  All he could say was "If you don't sleep you'll be poorly." Duh, really!*slaps forehead at my own stupid inability to sleep*

    Anyway, plans for the day.

Err.... don't know. There are things that need to be done (taking care of the children's needs obviously, dog exercise - short walk today ladies), things that ought to be done (shopping mainly) and things that will just have to blimmin' wait (ironing :p )

A nice invigorating shower next. Emergency ironing of uniforms, packed lunches, scrabbling for homework and general bimbling about until the school run. A quick run round on the common with the dogs and then home.........where my lovely bed will be waiting for me. Bliss :D

It's one of the real benefits of being a stay at home mum that if I need to take a duvet [STRIKE]day[/STRIKE] morning then I can. God help me if I had to go out to work :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day. (((((Hugs))))) to all, even if you don't need them :D

You cannot live as I have lived an not end up like me.

Oi you lot - please :heart:GIVE BLOOD  - you never know when you and yours might need it back! 67 pints so far.

    Morning All

I don't usually post on here but DS1 has been up since 5:45am so Im parked in front of the computer whilst drinking a large strong coffee.
Need to have a good tidy up today as DH wants to put the decorations up tonight  Personally I could do without them for another couple of weeks but he's a bigger kid than the erm... kids so I'll humour him

Just watching the Ashes at the moment, we are 230 - 3 so its looking better

    Have a happy Friday everybody.
If you like it, do it.
If you don't like it, do it, you might like it ;)

off to work - extra shift so more money for florida kitty. they have asked me to do monday too but that will be the last as they will be fully staffed soon. In a way I am quite pleased. Its nice to earn extra cash but sometimes you need a life too!

went to Boots last night on way home and bought the kids the perfume sets they wanted. it was special offer night so for a spend of £50 I got 1000 points :) means I now have over 3000 points to spend on other presents and ME!!!!

night out with friend has been postponed tonight so will have to think what we can have for tea. looking forward to weekend :)
