Tesco double points pre-loaded chargecard

Options
I'm sure I remember reading on here a couple of weeks back about a card you can use at Tesco where you load it up with cash, which earns points @1point/£1, then spend at Tescos @another 1 point/£1, effectively giving you up to 8% cashback.

This would be great if true, as it would probably be then possible to get a free MOT done on my car each year, or possibly a free service, as well as the free RAC cover the Tesco offer currently funds over the course of the year.

Can't find it anywhere though. Does anyone have the details please? Thanks!

Are you talking about a brochure which said that they will return 8 times the value of the tesco clubcard vouchers you sent them (as offers and discounts of course) ?

Perhaps you're meaning the Tesco Clubcard Plus - like the regular clubcard (but green not blue) - you load it with funds every month then pay at the till with it & earn double points i.e. 2 per £.

Tesco dont advertise this card anymore but you can still get it by ringing the clubcard helpline and asking for application form. Basically you agree a set amount to come out of your bank account every month and into your clubcard account and then you use your Clubcard Plus to pay for your shopping either online or in store. You get DOUBLE points every time you pay with your Clubcard Plus.

Thanks guys -- I'll give Tesco a call. Even if I just load it with £50/month to pay for fuel it'll be worth it in the long run :)

Wonder if I could load it with my Citi VISA card -- another penny/£ extra..... lol

actually i have been following this thread with alot of interest.

I will also try and get the green clubcard. Currently i spend £20 a week on shopping and £20 on petrol at tesco`s. I was recently refused a tesco cc.

This should be very useful for quickly building up a lot of points.

I've got a tesco credit card - means you get 1 1/2 clubcard points at tesco, plus 1/2 per £1 purchased anywhere. Not quite as good as the clubcard plus, but more convenient for me!

I have a clubcard plus, have done for a few years.

We spend about £70 a week on shopping and £30 a week on fuel. I worked out monthly what we spend, £440, and on pay day that amount goes into the clubcard plus. It also gives you and overdraft of your monthly amount, mine is £440, so if one month you spend a bit more it do it's ok.

I get double clubcard points which is good. I save my vouchers all year and pay for the family holiday. This year i paid for the whole holiday in vouchers and saved myself £1200.

I also have a Tesco cc which i earn points with.
