    Hi Stuie

Just landed back today :( and catching up on thread or just depressing myself more!

Checked out of MC around 10.30am and short taxi ride to Cosmo (not prepared to walk with cases!) fully expected to put cases with bell until room ready. Checked in and room was ready and no charge, this was on a comp room thanks to your info. I did pay $75 to upgrade from basic city to 1 bed fountain room but got that removed at checkout :T

Will hopefully do a TR/recap soon.

We arrived early at MC earlier this week. Also given a room straight away without have to leave bags with bell desk.

When we got check out email we had been charged €20 for early check in.Went down to check out, explained we had been charged for early check in,when there was no mention of it by the girl who checked us in.We said we were quite familiar with how early check in worked, and if we were asked if we would like to pay,or leave bags,we would have left our bags at bell desk.

What a fight to get the charge removed...basically the manager to us that the girl at check in said she had explained the early check in fee.

I was soooo annoyed that he said this, and basically told him that she was unfortunately a lair....nothing had been said at check in.

The fee was removed, but it leaves a "nasty taste" when your basically being told you are not being honest.
I asked him to get the girl to come and see us,and tell me to my face she had mention the fee,but he wouldn't.
We then left, and it took me ages to calm down.

Has anyone dined in Prime at the Bellagio? And if so, what are the chances of securing a fountain view when making a booking?

We did prime last year for our anniversary. Booked months in advance but no fountain view. You may have more luck through conceirge at hotel. Food was ok but had just as good at Tender at Luxor. Wine list was interesting!

We will be hitting Cosmo around 12 ish, so fingers crossed, we just roll right in ! :D
Plan is to upgrade to any room that has a Terrace.....

We have been able to check in about noon at Cosmo the last several trips, but previously we did have to wait. Once until about 4 or 5, which was a PITA as we just felt displaced all day. Now we have a plan of what we will do if we cannot get into the room to avoid the wandering aimlessly checking our phone to see if our room was ready.

The early check-in fee varies, I think, but it's some dumb amount...$50-$70 or something.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Brats64-how annoying that was and no wander it left a nasty taste in your mouth and im sure you may think twice about staying there again!

we sorta had a kinda similar situation last year when we stayed at the mgm. one day we had taken some money down to the pool spent it and ordered more drinks only to find out we didn't have any money left with us at the pool, so we charged it to our room( a coke and a beer ,so 2 drinks)

I had put down a $200 deposit thing down when we chekced in and tohught ok it ll be a bit less since we chareged the 2 drinks and did not use /charge anything else to the room.
what a shoock when the girl at check out said ok i ll put $55(or around that figure) back into you account:mad:

somehow it had shown up there was like 2 cabana things charged to our room, 2 bottle of champange and something else charged to our room.

I was in a panic as we were in a rush to catch our flight but thankfully it was sorted out after 5 mins, but never the less an annoying thing to happen.

I also had a bit of an issue with front desk at MC. We were booked in a basic room and had enquired about upgrade at check in but the Billboard music awards were on at T-mobile arena next door so no chance of $20 trick working (which I have found not successful at MC anyway) I was tempted to pay upgrade cost but went with original room.

Room was OK but decided next day to pay for spa suite. As we get up at silly o'clock I was at front desk at 6am, lady was very helpful and said she had a vacant suite that needed cleaning and would put a rush on it for me so would be ready in an hour maybe 2 and text me when ready.Great! So off we went to Walmart.

Back at front desk a few hours later after no text and got the most rude unhelpful (insert swear word) woman. I explained the situation and she basically said that couldn't have happened because housekeeping don't start until 9am and as I didn't get the ladies name who I spoke with and there was only "Britney" on early shift and it wasn't her then it couldn't have happened. As it was on her computer that a room change had been requested I said surely you can see what time and who made the adjustment. Sure enough it was "Gina" who was on graveyard shift and had gone home.

The fact that she was really rude to me got my back up but I stayed calm and polite and asked to speak with supervisor. She was just the same...as it was just a room change request it could be anytime up to 5pm.

It would have been fine if this had been explained in the first place but like Ferf mentioned you spend most of the day hanging about waiting for your room. I had 2 choices tell them to forget it or wait, I really wanted the room so I waited. We'll text you when it's ready....no you won't....

We had stuff to do that day so in the end was fine but don't like that "annoyed" feeling which I sometimes struggle to let go of but as I was in Vegas wasn't gonna let it ruin my day. Had a few drinks, enjoyed the day and got my suite in the end, which I was pleased with.

Brats, I'm a little confused on days but I think maybe we were there at the same time?

    Sunday 23rd-Wednesday25th.

Wonder if it was the same frontdesk woman!!

Quick recap, if I don't do it now I'll forget it!

So this was our 15th trip but first time as a couple! We have been with family/friends and kids in various combos for all of our trips so this was gonna be different for us!

    Flights

Virgin from Manchester, we live near Leeds so taxi is about 1.5hours.
Flight on time, we flew economy, OH does not see the point of PE or above as he thinks you all get there at the same time. I however would always choose PE but he's holding the purse strings so economy it is.
We did pay for row 25 which is the first exit seat as we planned on making a super quick exit into Vegas. Great seats and no one sat next to us so even better.

Bit of drama before take off. A young guy asked cabin staff for an aspirin or flight socks as he had forgotten his and a couple of years ago had suspected DVT. Chaos ensued with the cabin crew, medical books were consulted, much discussion and eventually they decided they couldn't fly him and the poor guy had to get off.

Return flight we chose row 62, these are the 2 seats together at the back, we were in no rush to get off at Manchester :(. I like these seats as they are away from the window I can position myself slightly sideways have plenty of leg space and used the foot cushion recommended by Winter Jasmine (I think) so pretty much slept for 7 hours.

    Hotels

We like off strip and as we were arriving at the weekend rates are cheaper. We stayed 3 nights at Silverton, 3 nights at Monte Carlo and 1 night at Cosmopolitan.

It may seem a lot of moving to some but it felt like separate little holidays, I though check in/out might be a pain but all went well.

Silverton- We have been here many times before but not actually stayed. It is very different to strip hotels, much smaller but friendly. The pool is very small compared to the big hotels but nice beds and not crowded. the weather was not great for the first couple of days, very windy and overcast so didn't actually use the pool. I usually visit in August so am used to very hot Vegas, I was quite cold those first few days!
The room was basic and quite dull but I didn't have high expectations, the wind was really bad at night and the window rattled so not much sleep. I usually manage about 5 hours in Vegas but averaged 3 at Silverton. At home I like 9-10 hrs!!
The good thing is you can get up whenever, our day started around 3.30am!

Monte Carlo- 3 nights here on offer from Mlife, 1 night comped, 2 reduced rate, $50 resort credit, $30 freeplay. As i mentioned upgraded room to spa suite. We really liked it, convinced OH upgrades are worth it and he reluctantly agreed (gonna work harder on the flight upgrades). Weather improved but still didn't use the pool!

Cosmopolitan- Last night here on a comp room. We upgraded to 1 bed fountain view. I would highly recommend a fountain view. I have stayed here before in a 1 bed and also a wraparound. I would say they are my fave Vegas hotel rooms. No pool use again. I have not opened the suncream.....

Shopping-Didn't expect to do much as OH is NOT a shopper. I did need to take things back for our boys. Somehow we ended up doing Town Square, South outlet, Red Rock Shopping centre and of course Walmart. I even found myself sat outside a changing room while he tried golf trousers on!

Food Ate at Twin Creeks, Johnny Rockets and Noodle bar at Silverton. Brand at MC, Aria buffet (breakfast and dinner MVegas), Red Rock lunch(MV). Wicked spoon at Cosmo. Really wanted to try Charlie Palmer 'Cut of the Week but didn't want lamb so will have to try next time!
We start off with good intentions of trying different places but end up not really feeling hungry and go for more liquid lunches!

Entertainment On Friday night we had arranged a meet with some people off another message board, Vegas Fanatics. We were meeting at Cosmo and doing a HL pull. We met at 8.30pm in the high limit room. We all put into a slot of your choice and play it through. Any handpays are shared out equally. There were 12 of us involved so $6000! As I don't have any tax to pay I offered my players card (some nice points earned).
This is hopefully the link to that play.

It was a lot of fun and went to a suite after for a few drinks and secret pizza.

MJ One at MB, loved this show even though not a huge fan of MJ. I like his music and wasn't sure what to expect but Cirque have done a fantastic job. I saw the Elvis one they did at Aria a few years back and thought it was rubbish, probably so did a few others as it's no longer there. Can't think of many Cirque shows that don't make it.

Dowtown- day visit, had great fun, drinks service is FAST! Did well on the gambling, got a handpay! This was at La Bayou, the really tiny casino that still pays in coin unless it's over $50 so yeah got handpay for $214...Mermaids has memories for us.... memories may be the wrong word as we don't actually remember that much due to severe intoxication! its closing soon so had a few beverages to say goodbye.

Ellis Island- I didn't really care for EI but OH likes to go for the beer. It's been a few years since we last went and I was pleasantly surprised. It seems friendlier, brighter and cleaner. I even enjoyed a few beers myself  Didn't eat at the cafe just had some nice pizza from metro.
