Barclaycard & Free Experian Credit Score
Comments

Hi Jimmo and Banksaver,
We are very sorry to hear that some customers have received incorrect information following their sign up to the new Experian Credit Score service through their Barclaycard account. Your Experian Credit Score is completely free of charge as confirmed at signup and if you have recently received an Experian Credit Expert welcome letter please ignore this.
Please accept our sincere apologies for this mistake as these letters have been sent in error. We reiterate there is no trial period or monthly fee for this service, and this is provided free of charge to Barclaycard customers who register through Barclaycard online servicing.
We are working hard to identify and speak directly to those affected.
If you have any further questions you can contact our specialist team using the details below:

Kind regards

I am an official company representative of Experian. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"

They want 2 original bits of address confirmation - so I'll be giving this a miss.
I get the free Noddle report anyway.
I requested my score on Monday and was informed it would be available within 24 hours - unless they couldn't trace me and needed more information.
Given I used to be a customer with the same home address and email and they keep emailing me to re-sign up I find it odd they haven't yet been able to give me a score!
PS According to their emails the national average credit score is 800.0 -
Hi,
I am another person who is absolutely furious to receive an Experian trial membership as a result of signing up to receive a completely free credit score on my Barclaycard. Nowhere did it state in the terms that I was signing up for any trial with experian - chargeable at £14..99
I'm in a queue to barclaycard right at this moment to complain to them about this.
What a scam!0 -

@Snowtiger: I answer you this way :You are free to believe it's an error and I am free to believe otherwise.
Meanwhile, barclaycard have confirmed to me that if there is any charge they will remove it.0 -
@snowtiger: and another thing, the number provided by the representative is a chargeable number on my phone service, so even if it was "an error", it still cost me a payment and my time, to call that number - all to ensure at my cost, that their error will result in no payment from me for what should have been a 100% free (i.e., not a single penny!) service.
The least they could do is give a freephone number for aggrieved and affected individuals, who've allegedly received said letter in error. But you probably have no problem with that either.
PS the number given in the letter does not put you through to anyone *unless* you are already one of the credit report customers, which I am not.0 -

We all pay for our beliefs, however wrong or misguided they are.0 -
I got my score today, and also a text to say to ignore any letter from experian as it is sent in error.0
