    Hi,
I am going to New York soon. Has anyone here ever gone up to the crown on the statue of liberty before? I booked it (through statuecruises.com) months ago and looking now the time on it is 11:00 AM. Is that the time I need to be at Battery Park for the boat across or the time I will actually be going up the statue (i.e. I would already have needed to have made the boat trip earlier). Am wondering what time I need to get to Battery Park for really. Thanks!

The time on your booking will be when you get on the boat. There's no set time to actually go up to the Crown as I recall. It's really limited so the Crown access doesn't get that busy. You'll need to get to Battery Park about 30mins before though as you need to pick up your actual tickets.

Word of advice, you can't take anything up to the Crown with you, bar a camera so you'll need a locker and for that you'll need to make sure you have some $1 notes. Also, it's warm walking up regardless of the temperature outside, so leave your coat/jacket in the locker too!

I used http://www.opentable.com/promo.aspx?pid=1&m=8 to track down the one we are going most likely going to but a lot are vague regarding Menu.
We are looking to book 212 Steakhouse as it is within walking distance of our hotel and sounds OK menu wise.

Expediablog has a decent pocket guide to New York with top NYC blogger recommendations. I am too new to share links, so if you're interested, please private message me and I will send you the details

    I hope it helps :)

    Thanks.

I got a Three sim only on a 1 month plan. The £20 one that includes all you can eat data. I timed it so it arrived a few days before I went, got it all set up then cancelled it using the web chat (as you have to give 30 days notice).
