What's the betting that he ever so carefully dismantles the house and puts all the materials into storage.
He could then either place a static caravan on the area the house occuppied, or if he has an outbuilding, adapt it for temp. accommodation.
Once he has lived in either for 10 years, he then earns the right to build without planning permission, a dwelling of any size or shape without hinderance.
In a couple of the older Grand Designd programmes, one couple lived above a carpenters workshop for 10 years, whilst another lived in a static caravan. They were then able to build without worrying about having to apply for pp. It is one of the vageries of planning.Never Knowingly Understood.
