    Hey guys,
I am thinking change of plan to our travel plan..
Original idea was to land in LA (direct flight) at 15:30pm, then head upto Ontario and crash there overnight, most likely leaving there around 7am to do the drive upto Vegas for our 10 night bash....

However, I am thinking, although I probably wont sleep on the plane, am thinking if we land at 15:30 at LAX, by the time we have got the hire car, it will be pushing 5pm (1am in my head)...
I'm night owl anyway, sometimes going to bed at 2am and up at 8am for work.......

    Sooooooooooooooooooo....
Have any of u, flew to LA, and then drove from there straight to Vegas ???
Am thinking few STRONG coffee's along the way, we could be at the Mirage for no later than 9pm (technically 5am)...... It will be a Sunday when we land in LAX......
    Do-able ???

Do-able if you can get some sleep on the plane. We had similar once but nearly came unstuck because our flight was delayed 5 hours. Luckily OH is capable of falling asleep anywhere and managed a few hours kip on the flight. There were a few on our flight who decided to crash in an airport hotel on arrival before making the drive.
So do-able but you need a plan B.

That would be B for Barstow :)

FWIW I did San Francisco Airport to Vacaville once. I did it but felt very tired towards the end and for me it wasn't the right decision. But everyone's different.

Only you know if its doable

I wouldnt attempt it as I know how I feel a few hours after getting off the flight and I wouldnt be able to stay awake to do the 5plus hour drive

I have flown in to LAX and San Fran but each time have had 2 or 3 nights before going on to Vegas but they have also been in a 15/17 day holiday

How about taking an internal flight from LAX to Las Vegas?

Sounds like you've had a bit of a rough time - hope things are getting better now! :) We got Platinum for same rate as last year... (which I think was the same that you had last year....) so can't be too disappointed I guess! :)

Things are getting better now, thankfully able to go the holiday to Thailand we had booked as I think he really needs a break now.

We've had the same rate 2 years in a row, so I don't think there's much give in it now. I'm glad it hopefully hasn't went up from that. By the time you add the tax if the exchange rate isn't great it is up close to a limit I have in GBP.

Come to think of it, did you not say you weren't going back to Vegas....lol you and Stoneman keep saying it's your last trip then booking up again. Let's see how long it takes him :rotfl: Me, I'm not in denial. I want to go back!!

Hi,just realised that I never did a trip report from Nov then thought that we really didn't do much different from what we always do except much, much more shopping(it was for Xmas!!)
However a couple of things that stand out that went really well for us was that we did AA and I was really concerned about passenger in the third seat.....I need not have worried ,we had all 3 seats to ourselves on all 4 flights,it was great!.the only thing I hated was the 6 hour layover in Chicago on the way home because it was snowing the whole time and when we finally got on the plane we had to sit on the runway for 1 1/2 hours whilst they defrosted the water system, then they found a screw missing which obviously had to be replaced(!!) and then the plane had to be totally defrosted outside for the second time.
The other thing that was great was we didn't pay any resort fee at TI because it had been paid by Holiday Genie (we thought they were a scam) so that saved us $200+.
We haven't booked to go back yet as OH is dragging his feet saying he doesn't know whether he wants to go back so watch this space as I will be on here getting advice for the single traveller as I am definitely going with or without him!!!!

    Hi all.

There are 12 of us heading to Vegas for my stag 6th - 11th May. We are staying in the Cosmopolitan.

I know this forum is about saving money but I was wondering if anyone has much knowleged on bottle service etc. We will want to hit a couple of pool parties and a couple of the top nightclubs. Obviously with 12 lads, it will be near impossible to get into the clubs by queuing and bottle service is the best way to get us all in. Anyone know the best way of arranging this? Through the hotels or private websites? Obviously the top clubs will likely be $200 each or so :( Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Also, as we are staying in the Cosmopolitan, do residents get any benefits with getting into Marquee Dayclub or Nightclub?

    Thanks in advance
