Hi all you knowledgeable folk
I am asking this question for a colleague who is very excited about her upcoming trip to LV, booked within the last couple of days.
They are flying on American Airlines (codeshare with BA) from LHR, connecting at DFW both ways.
They will arrive in DFW at 3.35pm and their connection to LAS leaves at 5.15pm. She wasn't aware that they would need to clear immigration and customs at DFW (and was told by Expedia that their luggage would just go straight to LAS which I'm sure can't be right). Is this enough time? They also need to transfer between terminals B&D in this time (although I'm not sure in which direction ITMAD)
Coming home, they arrive at DFW from LAS with only 45 minutes until their connecting flight to LHR.
We've had a look at AA website and both of her flights from DFW are the last of the day. They are only going for 6 nights so aren't keen on the prospect of losing a night on the way out and HAVE to get back on time due to childcare arrangements.
Now, I'm a cautious person, especially when travelling, and these connection times would worry me witless but is anyone out there familiar with these flights/DFW and am I worrying (and consequently worrying her and her partner) unnecessarily?2.22kWp Solar PV system installed Oct 2010, Fronius IG20 Inverter, south facing (-5 deg), 30 degree pitch, no shadingEverything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endMFW #4 OPs: 2018 £866.89, 2019 £1322.33, 2020 £1337.07

in 2013, I flew with US Airways doing connection flights, although I went AMS to PHL to LAS
We left Amsterdam, got to Philly, we went through immigration, picked up bags, then went to the Bag drop....
We had a 2hr window, although Immi to bag drop took 1hr.....
Great when we got to Vegas, as walked straight out, got bags and into a cab within minutes!
On way back, bags went in at LAS, and came out at AMS...
Same with landing at PHL, we had lots of time to kill before doing the connecting flight (said 1hr 25 overlay)....
oh, and no need to worry, I did all that, and worried for nothing!0 -
Transfer in DFW on the way back was seemless for us a couple of years back but I would be nervous about 45 mins. Can't remember how long we had but don't remember having to rush.
No experience on the way out at that airport but they will have to clear immigration and collect bags. At LAX you are met off the plane if you have short connection and given a pass for an express immigration line. One would hope the process is the same at DFW but someone else may be able to confirm.0 -

They should be fine going out, they will need to collect their bags, drop them and clear.
The flight seems to be fairly timely...its the AA51, which goes on to Salt Lake.

Coming back its a book all the way through to LHR job...the good news is it looks like alot of flights connect to the DFW LHR segment, so there is a good chance they will hold for connecting passenger, or at least be very experienced on the 45min transit.
That would be backed be the horrific on time departures on flight 50 if that's the one they're on...

Hi all.
There are 12 of us heading to Vegas for my stag 6th - 11th May. We are staying in the Cosmopolitan.
I know this forum is about saving money but I was wondering if anyone has much knowleged on bottle service etc. We will want to hit a couple of pool parties and a couple of the top nightclubs. Obviously with 12 lads, it will be near impossible to get into the clubs by queuing and bottle service is the best way to get us all in. Anyone know the best way of arranging this? Through the hotels or private websites? Obviously the top clubs will likely be $200 each or soAny tips would be greatly appreciated.
Also, as we are staying in the Cosmopolitan, do residents get any benefits with getting into Marquee Dayclub or Nightclub?
Thanks in advance :beer:0 -
After a few weeks of looking we opted for 4 nights in Mandalay Bay (resort fee included), 3 nights in Ballys (resort fee optional) - booked at lowcostusa.
Not stayed in either before but looking forward to the pool area of Mandalay Bay and then being pretty central at Ballys.
Any tips for either hotel ?0 -

Hi, I often read these travel threads but have never posted before, until now that is! I went on a stag do as part of a group of 11 to Vegas last September, we stayed in Caesars Palace.
We did a couple of pool parties and one VIP night at a club. We went to Daylight at Mandalay Bay and got a cabana which had a minimum spend of $1,000, not difficult to reach that as it was $500 for a bottle of Bombay Saphire gin . Also did similar at Rehab at the Hard Rock Hotel, that was a $2,000 minimum spend for a cabana. I'd just turn up at these and pay to go in to be honest, as nice as it is to be served drinks by a young lady in a bikini, they ended up costing almost $400 per person and you really don't get your moneys worth (the one at the Hard Rock was the better of the two however).
The VIP night was at Drais nightclub which was $2,000 minimum spend for a table. Although it avoided the hassle of having to queue etc again it really is hideously overpriced for what you actually get. Suppose it would depend on the night, but on the first night a few of us who werent tired from flying ended up in the club that's in the Mirage (cant remember the name) and got in quite easily after a 20 minute queue, that was a Thursday though.
We did a club crawl which was really good, google sin city club crawl as I cant post the link. You basically get ferried around in a party bus which takes you to a few bars and then onto a few clubs etc for £30 each. So that was quite good in terms of cost. Also found a bar in Flamingos casino which was $20 all you could drink, can't remember the name, can't remember much of that night to be hoest! There was a man outside the main casino entrance who would take you in and put a wristband on you etc.
I'd say avoid organising too much stuff to do during the day, as people will go awol, stay out until 6,7 am and not be interested until later on in the afternoon. Pretty difficult place to keep the cost down, bit you'll have an awesome time I'm sure :beer:0 -

Will be interesting to hear how you get on with that, I thought all Caesers properties were now compulsory0 -
