Morning lovelies!
Very well done to Annie on your loss and your shiny :j
Hugs to those that need them.
I will get sewing again, but I'm definitely not up to making clothes! Cross stitch is my thing, but I have so many half finished projects already it's scary. Not sure whether to try getting on with the birth sampler for my eldest or try and do some little things that were going to be christmas presents about 4 years ago :rotfl:
Today will be branflakes for breakfast, but not got any milk in so hubby is just off up the shop. Out for lunch but I know they do jackets, and then the remainder of a casserole I made for tea.
The last two weeks I've not been very dedicated to SW eating and it's shown (bit of a fluke loss this week, wasn't expecting so much), so dedication is in order as I really would like to lose another stone before Christmas. Should get me comfortably into 14's, maybe a few generous 12's.
The thing that scared me is that I measured my waist. I remember being slimish in the past and having a 31" waist (cos I wanted to but never made it to 30"!). It's at 38" now, 36" if I suck everything in. I know I've had two kids since and that will have done for my muscles, but still thought it would be a bit better. I've got to start doing some BM and some toning exercises else I'll never be in those lovely smaller sizes
At group we were challenged to try a new recipe this week and report back. Hubby coincidentally told me afterwards that he has been missing macaroni cheese (we used to buy one which I'm sure is syn laden). I've seen a couple of nice looking recipes on the SW site but just wondered if anyone here had a tried and tested nice one? Must taste nice and cheesey - hubby loves his cheese:heartpuls Daughter born January 2012 :heartpuls Son born February 2014 :heartpuls

My original target was 10st 7lb but I amended it to 10st 10 and was rather happy at that to be honest, I don't want to be a skinny minny or super toned just...happy
Thanks! I am all for being happy - I completely agree :T0 -

Maman - lamb tagine recipe as requested
LAMB TAGINE SPICE MIX
1 tsp cayenne pepper
2 tsp ground black pepper
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 Tbs turmeric
1.5 Tbs paprika
1.5 Tbs ground ginger
Mix together thoroughly.
I usually double or treble the quantities and then store in a screw top jar and just guess the amount to use each time so every tagine tastes different!
Method
Use about half the above mix to coat diced lamb leg and marinade overnight in fridge.
Finely dice or grate a couple of onions and 1-2 cloves of garlic and fry until softened.
Throw into casserole dish or slow cooker.
Fry off the marinaded lamb until browned on all sides. Throw into dish you’re using.
Deglaze pan using some tomato juice, stock or water and add to dish.
You can add whatever veg you like, eg courgettes, carrots, celery. Pour over a tin or two of chopped tomatoes, a couple of squirts of tomato puree; and some stock if needed
To counteract the spices you need to add some sweetness. I usually add a few chopped dried apricots (2 apricots = 1.5 syns) and a sprinkle of flaked almonds (2 syns?) (8 syns per 25g). Also 1 Tbs of runny honey (1 syn).
The recipe I based my tagine on also adds dates, sultananas or raisons, but I leave these out.
Cook in oven at 150 C for 2-2.5 hours or in SC on low for 8 hours.
Serve with plain couscous.
Denise
Realised after I'd posted that I forgot to say you need to sprinkle the rest of the spice mix over the onions and garlic to cook them off. Thought I'd repost the recipe so it's all together.
Having a Green day today:
B - Porridge made with water, mullerlight banana custard, banana
L - LO tagine (no lamb left, LOL!) with couscous
D - Butternut squash & lentil curry, rice
A very cheap day today as the butternut squash is one that I grew in the garden - really looking forward to it. I use the recipe from the SW website but make it syn free by making my own curry paste rather than using a ready made one.
HEA1 - milk
HEA2 - cheese
HEB1 - porridge
HEB2 - either bread to make a toasted cheese sandwich this evening or 4 Ryvitas
Syns: 3.5 in tagine
Just hope I can stick to it today as I've really been struggling this week. Definitely need to stop the rot on the high syns I've been having.

1lb off to start my S4S campaign
Just waiting for taxi to take us to station. We are going to London for the rest of the week. Hubby works down there and has a flat near st Paul's cathedral so very MSE trip really apart from the eating out and theatre tickets I bought. We are going to see "wicked" on Thursday evening. We also have plans to go and see the poppies at the Tower of London and I'm off to buy this years Christmas bauble from liberty - a tradition in our family, a new bauble for the tree brings good luck for the next 12 months.
I am also a keen stitcher and like doing cross stitch, tapestry and embroidery. I always seem to crave a new project when the clocks go back so maybe ill treat myself to something to keep me off the nibbles whilst I'm in Liberty.
Won't be back untill Sunday so untill then be good and ill catch up with you all then.0
