Just my opinion here but for the sake of saving maybe a hundred quid each I would prefer direct flights. No messing once you take off get some shut eye and land in your destination.

I've never had the luxury of getting a direct flight to Vegas from Scotland. We got one from Manchester one year but that involved a 4 hour drive and an overnight stay due to it being an early departure. There aren't many from Glasgow unfortunately. Thomas Cook have started it, but I still think I'd rather go indirect with a scheduled airline. Well unless I get a crazy good price in which case I'd consider any flight! :)

If anyone has stayed at the venetian/ palazzo
Could you tell me what the pools are like please?

I agree, they are very nice. From what I remember though, coming out of Palazzo onto the terrace there was no sun in the morning, but the terrace continues around and joins the Venetian pool. I seem to remember there were towel stations dotted about and also water stations with plastic cups.

Thank for all of your replies. BA cancelled our connecting flight from Gatwick to Edinburgh which departed at 1140. We fly in from Vegas to Gatwick at 0940 and the next available flight to Edinburgh is 1740 which is a 8 hour wait . The TA phoned BA to get it resolved and their solution was for us to pay £200 each to fly via Heathrow-Glasgow if we wanted to get up to Scotland quicker (we could drive it up quicker) I tweeted BA (in desperation!) and they said they could not deal with it and I would have to speak to my TA to get it resolved.
No one advised me that this flight had been cancelled and I feel we are just going in one big circle with BA and the travel agent trying to get a solution, hence I am looking at the United flights

Stayed at the Aria we were given a room on the 5th floor rubbish view but lovely hotel. after 14 hours travelling we just wanted to eat and go to bed, we noticed some complimentary shortbread and chocolate covered strawberries which looked delicious but where mouldy so we went back to reception just to ask for replacements.

WOW what a response we got, the assistant manager was called and came to deal with us (we just wanted more strawberries)
She asked us if we where celebrating anything we told her it was my 40th earlier in the year but are celebrating it now.

Ended up being moved to the 34th floor with a strip view and $100 food credit the next day 2 plates of chocolate strawberries arrived what a result.

We love the adrenaline activities in Vegas my video will show better than words

    Companys used
    American adventures for ATV
Battlefield Vegas for shooting (they pick you up and drop you off in an army truck)
Sun buggy tours for Dune buggys
World class driving for muscle cars
Sky combat ace for top gun experience
    BC flightlines for ziplines.
Wouldnt hesitate to recommend any of these companies they where all brilliant.

Had one day of really heavy rain which meant we couldnt get to the grand canyon the next day supposed to go white water rafting this was a huge disappointment.

Gordon Ramseys Burgr bar LOVED it good portions excellent food an reasonable prices.

This was our 2nd time to Vegas and we carnt wait to go again!

I have to travel from Wales to Gatwick to get direct flights these days as most have stopped from Manchester.
I feel any monies saved by going indirect you lose by chasing around airports for connections etc.
Just a preference for me to go direct.
I was happy with the £550 flights we got with BA in sale last winter for travel this spring.
I could have saved a £100 or so by going indirect from Manchester but it would have added at least 8 hours to the travelling time.

I get there quicker going indirect from Glasgow than travelling to an airport with a direct flight. Hopefully other options will open up in the future that might work better for me. Would be nice to fly direct from a local airport but I'm not keen on thomas cook which is the only one. I did hear that virgin might be flying out of Glasgow for a few weeks next year but can't remember when.

How long is the journey from Wales to Gatwick? I'm curious. Also, how do you travel there?

The Virgin direct flights from Glasgow start in Sept 10th to the 1st October 2015. Plus it looks like once a week.

I flew direct to Vegas in 1999 from Prestwick airport with Air 2000, it was a great flight
