Thanks Shala - I can only look after myself even if others won't & don't see my worth.
Booked myself in for Step Aerobics tonight. I'm on an exercise mission this week!0 -
Morning you lovely lot, started my new group with new leader last night, turns out the scales in the house have been weighing me 3lbs lighter than the SW scales so I was a bit disappointed to say the least! They've been banished to the cupboard lol.
When I got weighed, my new leader set the number of syns I can have to 10 a day? There was no limit at my old group and new leader said it was based on my weight. I'm happy to give it a try, the class seem to be doing well and she was really nice, I just haven't heard that before. Anyone else got any thoughts on this?
Was a bit disorganised this morning, the class went on a bit because it was a big one so supermarket got rubbered and I went straight home! Managed to whip up a quorn spag bol pretty quick so all wasn't lost. Went bananas with the peas as my 1/3 superfree, this is def where I normally go wrong so determined to make the effort for this.
Loving to see how many of you are making the effort with the body magic, I'm away to sort my gym membership out later today and get back into it. I see a couple of you are doing couch to 5k - I managed to get to week 3 about a year ago, it was BRILLIANT for weight loss but I hate running and got bored of it.
Had toast for brekkie with butter  nothing else because I didn't go to the shops so thats 2 of my syns gone! Soup and SF jelly for lunch and the rest of the bolognaise for tea so thats another 2.5 syns - 6.5 to spend on something else!!
Have a great day folks xx0 -
Bad night's sleep again, so tired, ME really playing up just now. Endless trips to the loo not helping, although I know it is a good indicator of losing weight.

We were always told at class we could have up to 15 syns but to stick to 10 just incase a few slip through by accident.. i think it may be one of those times that 'different consultants say different things' thing.
I don't think peas count as your 1/3 superfree, i may be wrong as i don't eat them but i'd double check in your book. Or someone else may confirm..
Are you doing EE today? if so you might be a bit light on SF's - is your soup vegetable? It may be because you haven't been shopping so ignore me if so..

Morning all,
Shala1 off for me this morning. I'm so chuffed, that's a total of 2st 2 lb. I was over 14 st when I started, and I feel sooo much better. Lost the first half a stone on my own at home and then 1 st 8.5 lbs with SW. I'm lucky that we have a lovely group who are so supportive.
I honestly feel is time I will get to goal:D
Anyway I made SW hummus with red pepper on Saturday night. We munched on it with sweet potato chips done in fry light in the oven, with a sprinkle of cayenne pepper.
Here's the recipe if you fancy trying it.
Ingredients
1 red pepper, deseeded and sliced
Low calorie cooking spray
400g can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
20-50ml water
2 cloves garlic, crushed
1 tbsp lemon juice
Salt to taste
Method
Place the sliced red pepper on a baking tray sprayed with low calorie cooking spray and roast until softened.
Once the pepper is cooked and cooled, place all the ingredients in a food processor and blend, adding more water if necessary to create a smooth paste.
Add salt to taste and serve with chopped up carrot batons or any of your favourite Free vegetable sticks!

My weight loss has slowed down to a pound a week but I finally understand that this is fine. Big losses are fab but it's the steady losses week in week out, that get me to goal.
Hope everyone is having a good day xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

-2lbs for me please Shala.
Don't know that I deserve it though - got home last night after WI and ate the whole packet of choc hi-fi bars, all 5 of them instead of eating dinner!! I did suffer during the night though, so won't be doing that again.
Mumoftwo - good luck with the BP, I'm sure it will be lower if you don't have to go to the surgery.
Have a good day all.

Shala - thanks for replying, I was counting the "peas" (actually petit pois) because I saw them in the book but they are actually super speed, not super free so well spotted!!! Will be swapping them for green beans. I normally do green plan because I'm veggie but was just going to stick to EE this week and talk to her about it next week.
The soup is leek and potato, homemade, I'm a bit of a disaster today really, this is why planning is the key. Will need to sit down and plan some stuff out for the rest of the week.
Thank you so much for pointing that out - I would have been shovelling in the petit pois like there's no tomorrow as my superfree cos I love them. Maybe this is where I was going wrong the last time before I gave up.....! :beer:0 -
Lioness_Twinkletoes wrote: »FYI I have discovered that petit pois come under the heading of pulses and are healthy, super-speed and high in fibre - so fill your boots!
Daisy2014, the quote above is what Lioness Twinkletoes wrote about petit pois a while back, so not all bad
I use superfrees like carrots, mushrooms, celery, garlic & onions in spag bol.
mumoftwo, hope you're feeling more positive about your BP, you've had some great advice on here.
Well done Lioness, Julie67 & Minihauk for the losses :T'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -
Julie67, was it you who told us about the arm exercises you were doing, devised by your OH?? If so, how are you getting on??'A watched potato will never chit'...0
