warm home discount scheme

We had a letter mid Jan to say they'dreceived application and would be in touch either to get proof or let us know how to get the discount but not heard anything further. How long did this stage take for other people?

Received reply from BG letter dated 27th feb

Stating that i have to send in a gross annual letter from JCP/DWP
the only thing missing from them issuing the credit cheque

I have until 5th March to send it which obviously is NOT enough
Time to get and send in

I got told they will contact DWP/JCP

There is a contact on no on letter but cant get through on phone just says leave a message they will get back to me in in TWO WORKING DAYS

So we miss out on a payment which was not my fault

I would contact them and tell them 5th March was not enough time to sort. you never know.

What's even more annoying is my Direct Debit payment went out today, when it seems I had large hidden WHD credit on account !

Scottish Power automatically refunded £120+ credit on my account due to WHD payment, 2 days after I submitted readings & new bill produced.


I did not ask for refund, as was happy to leave on account to cover future monthly payments.

Think could be to do with stories in news about energy companies holding millions of pounds in credit and being told to refund credit

Ofgem's call comes after most of the "big six" energy firms agreed to automatic refunds for direct debit customers when they are in credit.

I assume anyone with large credit on their energy account due to WHD payment will have it automatically refunded by Scottish Power.

I've just received my pre-payment voucher from British Gas.
