    in MADRID :)

    And you point is what?

Movistar shops are all over Spain so if one in Madrid sells them others might too.

Although since posting this I have tried phoning a few shops between Calpe and Javea and had no luck.

As Tuenti have a special offer on at the moment of a free SIM I decided at that price to go for one by mail order. They say deliver is 2 to 4 working days.

T&C say it’s only for Spanish residence and I found when ordering that you need:
    • A Spanish address
    • A Spanish mobile
    • Upload a copy of your passport or NIE

My point is only Movistar shops in Madrid sell them. Though there are other shops that sell them, just not Movistar. Perhaps that has changed recently.

Anyone heading for Spain in the next week or so might be interested to know that Carrefour currently have a Promotion running until the 30th of June, featuring their Huawei E303 USB modem. Buy it together with their Prepago Internet Movil SIM(5€ included) and the whole package is 9€.

That is cheaper than the Prepaid SIM with 5€ included on it's own. Had quite a discussion at the till as the cashier had no idea until she scanned both items and saw the hefty 40€ discount come up.

100MB per day for 1€ plus IVA. So four days access included. You can add more credit at the till once you've purchased the package.

    Take your passport/ID with you.

i presume this is no good for an ipad as no usb socket is present - only for a netbook or laptop.
i do have a netbook (asus eeepc 901) that has a built in sim slot using a vodafone payg sim in UK, can i then just purchase carrefour sim and use that in spain. it currently uses the vodafone mobile software so would i need to install new / different software to get the carrefour sim to work in it?

Indeed not, the point was that the package at 9€, is cheaper than the SIM alone which is 10€.

Have no idea as to what is installed to your ASUS. Have you tried a SIM other than a Vodafone SIM? Will the software allow you to add differing Profiles?

If not, you may need to install generic Mobile Connect software, to be found here

You already have a link to the Huawei E5332. ;)
