BUFFETSGo to Vegas....all work and no play and all that"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"
MFW: Mortgage Cleared!!! 14 1/2 years early0 -
SHOPPINGHad a similar conversation with the hubbie last night. If we'd have skipped three Mexican vacations and a trip to Germany, we could have paid off the mortgage four years earlier. But sometimes you need those escapes! The mortgage will be there for a period of time anyways.0

http://www.viator.com/tours/Las-Vegas/Grand-Canyon-All-American-Helicopter-Tour/d684-2280AAHT
There is a discount code for viator as well, FSAV7 should give you 7% off0 -

I don't really know what a good price is on this sort of thing as it's not something that we have ever looked into.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Well I made it to 6am this morning before springing wide awake so hopefully starting to get on Vegas time. We are off on our helicopter trip to the grand canyon later this morning so will let you know how that goes tomorrow. We booked through Viator and cost £528 in total for 2 of us for the 'skip the line' package as I wanted the quickest way to do the canyon. That was using an online discount code as someone further up mentioned.
Yesterday we had the wicked spoon breakfast - incredible. So much choice! Then we explored some of the hotels: Bellagio, Caesars, Mirage and Treasure Island. Paid the $19.95 each to go into Seigfreid & Roy secret garden and really enjoyed that. The dolphins were on top form. Can't believe the size of the hotels. It took us all day just to do those 4 then we headed back to the Cosmo for a couple of hours at the pool before dinner. We used the bamboo pool which is on the 14th floor and much quieter than the marquee pool which is too 'spring break' for us fogeys.
Last night we had booked the Top Of The World revolving restaurant at the stratosphere. Food was beautiful and I found the setting really romantic. The bloke at the table behind us got down on one knee during the meal so I wasn't the only one! The girlfriend was genuinely shocked and really happy so all good. We had 2 mains and a desert between us. Portions were huge and bill was $145. The idea had been to do the rollercoasters on top after dinner but we were too full so will have to go back and do that another day now. I was getting sleepy again at 10:30 so we just came back and had a soak in the Japanese tub while we watched the fountains. Hubby had done a detour to Walgreens again for wine, beer - and bubble bath! Lovely.
It's 6:30am now and I'm on the balcony watching 2 people in a wee boat footering about with Bellagio fountains. Definitely glad of the balcony at the Cosmo. Lovely to sit out here watching the strip :-)0 -
Oh - and regarding the dress code. It's is indeed a mixture.
I had gotten quite dressed up (just because I like to) in a bronze sequin dress and heels, and hubby was wearing a smart shirt and jacket. While I would say 60% were dressed like us there were some others in shorts and flip flops - ladies included. If I'm honest I find that a wee bit disappointing but maybe I'm just old fashioned.0 -

CASINOSI love the clothing situation in Vegas. When I'm playing poker I like to mix up what I wear. I also love getting really suited up and strolling around like a boss. I also love combining smart clothes with unsmart clothes, like this classic football-shirt-under-the-suit from trip back in April:
Here is me and a couple of my poker buddies, as you can see we all like to convey a different image at the table. Guy on the left is an insanely good player, his winnings for 2012 are over $100k already :O0
